For those anxiously awaiting the release of Disney’s 3D effects-extravaganza Tron Legacy – and whose only frustration so far is that it won’t be hitting their local multiplex this summer – you should definitely have a look at Screen Rant‘s Extended Tron Legacy Trailer.

As for those who aren’t on that boat – aw, who am I kidding?  I know you’re not real. 😉

Screen Rant‘s own Mike Eisenberg has already proven himself an expert film editor when it comes to movie trailers – just have a look at his well-crafted compilation video preview that we like to call The Ultimate 2010 Summer Movie Trailer for the proof.

So, without further adieu, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

This Tron Legacy trailer places more of an emphasis on the relationship between Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) and his long-lost father Kevin (Jeff Bridges) than the official Tron Legacy trailer does – quite fittingly too, since their relationship looks to be pivotal to the film’s plot as a whole.

It also offers a nice glimpse at some of the Tron Legacy characters – including the lovely Olivia Wilde in her skin-tight, virtual suit – and mouth-watering CGI-visuals we’ll get to eventually see in action on the big screen.  Just enough so, that is, that viewers will still be left yearning for more.

Kudos to Mike for beating out the professional trailer editors at their own game. simple smile Extended Tron Legacy Trailer

Tron Legacy will arrive in regular/3D/IMAX theaters in the U.S. on December 17, 2010.

  1. nice — and thanks for using youtube. I like CGI as much as everyone else but the mouth-watering comes from watching Olivia Wilde in that suit, I must admit..

  2. The extended trailer can’t hide the bad acting by the son and the weird looking CGI Jeff Bridges. He looks like a poor double that can’t act. The tone of the music is off too.

Basically you just made me that much less interested in Tron Legacy.

  3. Bummer I can’t watch it as I’m in Germany. Any chances of making it available to us expats over here? Thanks in advance.

  4. @Jenny
Stop whining! You got IM2 before us; you don’t see me crying about it! …… Ok, I’m crying about!!! :-)

This trailer didn’t really inspire me, although I am looking forward to the movie.
