The Expendables trailer is finally here, and I gotta say, it looks much better than the promo trailer that leaked onto the Internet a few months back.
This new trailer delivers exactly what The Expendables has promised: a bunch of action stars doing what they do best. There’s even a very special scene featuring three of the genre’s greatest together onscreen for the very first time. Classic stuff.
As for the the film itself? The Expendables never claimed to be the greatest movie ever – just one kick ass action movie on steroids. And it looks like that’s exactly what we’ll be getting.
If you don’t know what the film is about:
THE EXPENDABLES is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren’t quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge – one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
Here’s The Expendables trailer, see if you can spot all the action stars:
You can see the HD version over at Yahoo Movies.
I guess it’s no secret (at least around these parts) that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger have cameos in The Expendables, but still, I almost wish they’d left that scene out.
I also think this trailer tried too hard to get deep into “the story” of the film, at the expense of showing us more detailed clips of each action star in the ensemble. They really could’ve just shown us a clip of each tough guy with their name in big red letters and been just as (if not more) effective at getting us excited.

To be honest though, I’m still really looking forward to this film – it looks like a pretty fun way to end the Summer 2010 blockbuster season.
The Expendables will be in theaters on August 13, 2010. If you couldn’t keep count, the movie features Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, David Zayas and Mickey Rourke.

This is epic.Im not going to lie, seeing Bruce,Arnold and Stallone all in the same scene(even for a brief cameo) made me a get all excited like a kid again. My wife and I will definitely be going to see this…Awesomeness
WHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT!!!!!
That trailer look so tuff dem rude bwoi nah mash up!
This IS the film of the summer.
Yep, it's a must see.
I love this! I am ready for this movie and can't wait for August. However, I have a theory on the cameo scene between Arnold, Bruce and Sly. If the scene is what was previously reported, then there is already a bad blood between Schwarz and Stallon. This makes me think that perhaps they are setting it up for a sequel if the movie does well. And based on the fact that Arnold's final term is almost up he could definitely get in shape and come back to the film industry as the villain in The Expendables 2.
Look fun! JCVD should have joined the crew, but i guess he would have been upstaged by Jet Li.
Now that would be fun.
That just looks killer! I also saw my friend Paul's name–he's one of the editors!
Heath
If you grew up watching them in the 80s, you probably just had an incident, like I just did. Its like having a wet dream, while your awake.
Excuse me I have to go and clean myself
Wow now that you mentioned it, that could be a possibility. I fully agree, that would be great.
Haha, I wonder what our Belgium friend is thinking right now doing another DTV film. It may be an homage to a the generic men on misison films, but, at least JCVD is back on the big screen again!
The funny thing is that I'm actually looking forward seeing the 3 action icons rather than the film itself. Don't really care for the rest of the cast (or the film).
That's at least DVD material there. You can't really enjoy a movie like this in a theater.
Most excellent…

There's a story? SO-FRIGGIN-WHAT?! Bring the pain! I can't wait for this one! And that three way scene with Willis/Stanone/Ahnold is about 20 years overdue!
this is much better then the unedited trailer that was released a while back.
i doubt arnold will be he villain in a sequel (if this scores enough and the team wants to make another) he seems like a rival business man rather then an enemy.
while your first statement is true, the dialogue still stinks. LOLs whats the only thing that's faster, ROFL light. im still gonna watch it in theaters though.
F**king WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that looks even more awesome than I expected !!!!
when does it open ?????????
LOL…
No… Dada Dialogue! Think about it, or not.
you kind of get the impression that arnold is bad, just after will says “whats his problem” you see arnold give a somewhat evil smirk to the 2.
i hope arnold gets back into acting, he could do it, he was mr.olympia he knows the tricks. i would love fopr him to get back into it if only for 1 or 2 movies.
Just hope they have a camera take with all of them at the same time in the picture ! Here it was somehow cut's and takes of each nearly single alone in the pic
Wanna see them all together in a shot !
WAH!!!! It won't come up! DRAT!! I'll have to wait till I get home!
I find it pretty funny that Terminator Salvation had such trouble getting the Governator to appear (and even then he appeared in digital form only), and yet all Sylvester had to had to do was make a phone call.
Still, this looks pretty good, I'll likely see it.
This. Looks. Awesome.
NOW – THIS LOOKS SICK !!!
EVERYONE OF US IS EXPENDABLE!!!
ROFL – this just feels like a classic “coked up” 80s action flick. The one-liner dialogue, the look, the premise. I miss those 'Hard to Kill' and 'Commando' type flicks.
wow……….just sayin
Since when are Couture and Austin action stars?? They actually ruin the 80's insignia that this movie was going for. The only reason I'm seeing this is the scene between the big three, which, I agree with skylordric… skylordric??… that it is 20 years overdue.
I still have hope that Van Damme will walk in that scene and give one of them a roundhouse kick. A scene with all four of them would be- aw man, that would be so cool.
I love this movie but I cant help but think about who else could have been in this movie as well.. It gives the sequel a reason. I think justifies it totally– Steven Segal and Van Damn. And this time they shouldnt be Dunces and say no. This is an epic movie! make it happen! Imagine Segal as a Bombs Expert. Or Van Damn in a supporting role to Stalone! It would be so cool! That would be worth it!
