  1. I grew up watching these actors in the 80′s and 90′s, and I have to say I loved the film. It was exactly right! The violence, action, and badassery were completely over the top and perfect! I agree with the reviewer- Schwarzenegger and Willis stood the show but everyone was great! Chuck Norris was hilarious! I would definitely recommend this to all the fans out there of the genre.

  2. I loved it!

An absolutely ridiculous movie.. but it was perfectly corny.

And Chuck Norris actually SAYING one his “Chuck Norris Facts”.. gold.

  3. This movie was awesome and lived up to the hype. My only quip was when Jet Li exited the movie after the opening scene. I hope he will be back for part 3.

  4. is it true that the van damme vs stallone fight aint all what it’s cracked up to be?

    • Yes. The fight between Stallone and Van Damme is very disappointing and underutilized. The fight between Stallone and Austin from the first film was much better, in every way possible.

      • Well that sucks. And Jet Li exits the movie early?

I mean the two most iconic martial artists of my generation don’t get the screen time the fans were waiting for? the REAL screen time?

What about Chuck? Does he fight, or just shoot guns?

        • Yeah, I was/still am very disappointed that Jet Li is only in the first ten minutes. I would have loved to have seen him and Van Damme go at it. The only characters to really get any screen time that didn’t really have much the first time around are Schwarzenegger and Willis. Their amount of screen time is significantly higher, and was also some of the best in the movie.

Chuck does not fight, he only shoots guns. Which is a little unfortunate, but the guy is 72 years old, so it’s a little understandable. However, he does shoot a lot of guns and kills A LOT of people, so, to me, it kinda makes up for it.

          • Redyr: I own a copy of the Blu-Ray and Simon West’s commentary sheds some light in why Jet had limited screentime. Long story short, Jet was also working on another movie at the same time (which one it is, West didn’t say), and just couldn’t devote more time for Expendables 2. Most of Jet’s stuff was filmed in Hong Kong while the rest of the crew shot the film everywhere else.

            • Lunatic: Thanks for clearing that up. I have yet to get the Blu-Ray (hoping for it to be a Christmas gift), but when I do get it, I will most certainly check out the commentary. It’s a bit unfortunate that Jet Li couldn’t devote much time to it, but, hopefully, he will be everywhere in the third one.

          • but chuck norris entery with shooting was too good and old his old background music did make it nice entery of chuck norris realy… :)
