The Expendables3 Stallone Wants Bruce Willis for Expendables 2 Villain

Sylvester Stallone’s throwback to 80s action flicks, The Expendables, has already recouped its $80 million production budget at the U.S. box office, and a sequel seems all but given at this point.

Stallone, the Rocky/Rambo a-lister, officially joined Twitter last week and he’s already revealed an interesting tidbit. Stallone recently had dinner with fellow older generation action movie comrade, Bruce Willis and during the dinner, Stallone broached the subject of Willis potentially playing a “super villain” in The Expendables sequel.

Willis had a shared cameo appearance with Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Expendables - a scene that hinted at the possibility of future meetings between Stallone and Willis’ onscreen counterparts.  A number of moviegoers have already speculated that the exchange between the three was intended to serve as a lead-in to an Expendables follow-up from the very beginning.

One Twitter user was quick to suggest to Stallone that the addition of a female action star to the Expendables crew would be perfect for a sequel – an idea that would go over well with a number of fans.  While an all-female combat unit movie looks unlikely for now, there are plenty of butt kickin’ female leads whose presence would definitely improve a second Expendables pic.

Stallone is also considering new “dangerous places in the world” to serve as the setting for his second Expendables venture. The Middle East seems like the most obvious location (albeit somewhat cliché at this point) for the crew’s next mission, though a war-torn region in Africa could suffice as well – everyone knows that Stallone’s character, Barney Ross loves playing in the jungle. icon wink Stallone Wants Bruce Willis for Expendables 2 Villain

The most difficult issue Stallone faces at this juncture, one that he claims is present in every action movie, will be to “inject heart and soul” into the Expendables sequel. As the bulky star put it, “… bullets are easy, emotions are hard.  LIKE LIFE ITSELF.”

The Expendables is currently playing in theaters in the U.S.

  1. Expendables was OK for what it was but really, even for the type of movie it was it could have been a lot better (and don’t jump on me, I gave it a positive review). :-P

    Vic

    • yes vic, lets hope Sly takes a good look at what worked and what didnt in the next outing

    • main issues would have been the somewhat out of place script, terrible camera work (for the most part) and editing made the fight scenes unbearable (choreography could have been alot better , sly should have gotten Li to do all martial arts choreography if he was to cheap ;) )

    • Only one way to make it better….3D!!!!!! :)

  2. Hey smitty youre new here?? If u are let me be the first to welcome you…. 8-)

    • oh no….I first started enjoying the fine work of Vic around 2004 or 2005…….I just tend to stalk around and put my 2 cents in when I feel the need….and thank you for the welcome…..Vic is the man

  3. Yeah! Kinda thought they’re going that way. It’d be nice if Willis’ character would hire another team with a younger roster to counter Ross and company. This team would, I dunno know, Mark Whalberg, Vinn Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and other ‘new’ action stars out there, headed by De Niro? Its a loooong shot but everyone’s entitled to their dreams [and opinions] right?

  4. While I wouldn’t mind seeing some newer action stars (or unknowns) mixed in for the sequel, but I’d really like to see team Schwarzenegger go up against the Expendables (and maybe end up teaming up with them by the end or not). My picks would include Kurt Russell (Snake Plissken!), Ving Rhames, Danny Terjo, and Sho Kosugi (let the shuriken fly) with a possible appearance by either Fred Williamson or Richard Roundtree as a nod to the 70′s.

I think half the fun of this is making your own action dream team. :)

    • you got that right (the last part)

  5. Smitty

hahaha no prob,we need u on more often.

  6. Wow, remind me never to post a negative opinion. Jeez, what’s wrong with some of you? I didn’t think the Expendables was going to be a masterpiece but I expected more action. There was more talking than action so that’s why I didn’t like it. I hate to break it to you but no matter how much you like something, there’s always going to be someone who dislikes it.
As for the whole Twilight comment, I absolutely hate it. It’s a waste of paper and film.

    • Yep, the only way Expendables could have been even better was if it had even more action!!! :)

      • if Mr STALONE makes the expendebles 2 ,I will go se it many times, people dont understand the dedication and effort that this 63 yearold man put himsef into? wow.I am talking about not only effort, howmany jobs he created with his movie,I am expecting epxen-2 in 2011 new actors, old actors and forgaten action heroes that will have another chance for a comeback to relive the past.here are some action stars-VAN DAME the star that had a chance to make his own sequel with timecop, here are the actors that many people forgat about,DAVID BRADLEY MICHAEL DUDIKOV BRUCE CAMPBELL,DON THE DRAGON WILLSON,OLIVER GRUNER,CASPER VAN DIEN,JAJAL MERHI,CINTHIA ROTHROCK ,BILY BLANKS,SHO KOSUGI,AND MY FAVORITE RON MARCHINI from AMERICAN NINJA before even MICHAEL DUDIKOV started his AMERICAN NINJA SEQUALS.

  7. Leave Arnold as a cameo…he looked like an old man/ Forget Kurt Russel, as he is a mamas boy/ Cynthia rothrock is nothing/jajal is a joke/
Try Danny Trejo! Ving Rhames! A bigger part for Mickey Rouke! What about The Undertaker? he`s acted some.

    • fin, dany trejo can play ,is possible and undertaker ugly motherf—-es hard to die.with original cast, add JCVD cristina loken, tony ja G- butler and rock ,ok or no?

  8. What about a cameo from the toughest guy ever? CLINT EASTWOOD!

    • yeah Clint Eastwood would make everyones day 2

  9. Would love to see Jean Claude Vandamme in the movie he could do a fighting scene with Jet Li and Jason Statham also Mickey Rourke & Dolph hope they comeback they where a nice supporting cast female casting would spice it up a bit 2
