Nat Geo WILD is set to deliver a new adventure series fit for animal lovers and the more scientific minded alike with an exclusive clip from Out There With Jack Randall. The six-part series aims to introduce former Steve Irwin apprentice Jack Randall, who from a very early age planned to follow in his idol’s footsteps, and has achieved the dream of headlining his own television series geared toward educating people about the animal kingdom, highlighting some creatures that might otherwise get a bad rap for being rather scary

Like Irwin, Randall has a knack for tracking down critters of all kinds and he goes after them with a familiar kind of zeal. That passion could also be regarded as fearless, especially when the young zoologist is digging around in some swamps at night, tracking down water pythons. In fact, as the title of the first episode of his new series suggests, Randall is ‘Hunting the Ghost Serpent.’ While that may sound a little like Nat Geo WILD is reviving Ghost Hunters, viewers can rest assured Randall’s adventures are based in actual science and a desire to learn more about the natural world.

In a Screen Rant exclusive clip, Randall comes face-to-face with a water python, the first he’s ever tracked down in the wild. Needless to say, his excitement is very apparent. Randall’s not alone in his search for slithering reptiles, as a fellow snake lover joins the host to deliver some interesting facts about the creature Randall’s just uncovered, making it a little less scary in the process. Take a look at the clip from episode 1 of Out There With Jack Randall, and read a synopsis of the series followed by a short quote from its star below:

“In this adrenaline-filled series, Jack literally goes to the ends of the Earth to go nose to nose with nature’s creepy crawlies and wild beasts. He dives into crocodile-infested swamps, crawls through cramped caves laden with bats to find a rare half-metre python and experiences a fair share of bites from ‘grumpy’ wild animals along the way.

“At the end of the day, I want to put all the passion I’ve got towards fighting for the animals that people are often frightened of,” says Jack. “My ultimate mission is to meet every species -- up close and personal in the wild -- and inspire others to fall in love with them and be moved to protect them and their homes.”

It certainly seems as though Jack Randall is poised to follow in the footsteps of Steve Irwin. And with his outright exuberance and desire to learn and help others learn, it may not be long before Nat Geo WILD’s newest star is a household name.
