Also would it be possible to send me my points so far trying to keep track

    • Hey Tyler. Sent you an e-mail.

  2. I don’t remember anything from the Matrix 3, take from that what you will.

    • Not even the Superman vs. Zod-style fight in the rain? That said, I really only remember a few major set pieces – it’s all kind of an overwhelming blur now.

      • Matrix 3 is the best. The fight at the end is amazing. It really reminds me of Dragonball Z, with the rain being blasted back and I can also see the Man of Steel Supes vs Zod fight, it’s just amazing.

    • The awful robots fighting the awful robosquid storm?

  3. 1. Scary movie 5

    3. G.I. JOE Retalation

    10. Burt Wonderstone

I thought the Evil Dead, remake was a great mix on new and old. You cant stop Hollywood from turning them out but i hope this film sets the standard from here on. I recently went to a marathon her in NYC that showed Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 , Army of Darkness and the new remake. For what its worth what ever you think of Sam Rami, he is a ” Every Man” director and let Fede Alvarez do what he felt was right as long as he keep the what was the spirit of the original, and i felt he did so and more…

….” All right, you primitive screw-heads, listen up! See this? This… is my boomstick!”….

    • Man, I would have loved to have seen a theatrical marathon of those films – I miss living in NYC!

  4. THE MATRIX RELOADED IS AMAZING!!! The fight in the chateau is awesome. The freeway chase is awesome, over long, but awesome. The story is brilliant and deep. Despite some hollow acting and a little cheap cgi, Matrix Reloaded is a great sci fi film and a spectacular follow up to a genre changing movie. I like really Revolutions but its not as strong for me and it pulls Reloaded down a bit. You guys need to do a big Matrix explained special edition of the podcast to settle this buisness.

    • Oh! The chateau fight was cool. I had forgotten about that one.

Maybe we’ll do a podcast like that – and call it: Reloading The Matrix (Again).

    • Best action scenes and music are all from Matrix 2. The medieval weapon fight, the ghost fight, the keymaker protector fight, and man, that car chase highway sequence? Still one of the best.

That 100xAgent Smith thing did suck though.

      • Yes, especially the soundtrack. Rage Against the Machine, awesomeness.

  6. I dont think the audio was better, IMO.

I think Matrix 3 lags (especially the subway station part)but has a better story and an excellent end.
But 2 is a good action film but nothin really memorable say for the chase with the albinos and the street smith fight.

    • 1 Scary Movie 5
      2 42
      3 Evil Dead
      4 Gi Joe
      5 Croods
      10-The Host

    • We’re actually hoping the audio is better in the long run but there are some kinks to work out still. If it’s not better, we’ll go back to the old method but this way SHOULD be more consistent at least. Definitely let me know. I spend a lot of time listening to each episode (for editing), so they kind of blur together for me.

      • Your voice, Ben, sounded very different. Not so much everyone else.

        • Yeah, I was actually using a new mic. Better or worse?

There were quite a things we changed up this time. Though, I thought Rob’s audio was cleaner this time. Like I said though, it’s hard for me to tell week to week.

  7. 1 – 42

    3 – The Croods
    4 – Evil Dead
    5 – G.I. Joe

  8. Matrix 2 was a better MATRIX movie, Matrix 3 was a better ZION and MACHINE CITY movie. They were only in the Matrix in the third movie for about two minutes.

    • LOL! Matrix 3: Machine City. Amazing.

  9. I’m a big pixar fan! I really can’t wait for finding dory. That said. I never saw cars 2 cuz I heard from so many different people it just wasn’t good, a cash grab. Toy story sequels were fantastic. I’m hoping dory will be great too. It has Ellen sold which is great news. She seemed at least genuinely excited and passionate about it. So I’m hopeful. Stanton did a great job with walle and finding nemo. Maybe he’s just a better animate director. Although I will say John carter wasn’t bad, not great but not bad. It had it its flaws but for the most part it was enjoyable. So well see.

Ben any word on whn we’ll get a Thor trailer? Or at least a poster.

    • I like most Pixar movies and am optimistic about Finding Dory but – just interested to see how they position it.

We’re not sure about the Thor teaser – normally, I’d say attached to ‘Iron Man 3.’

Rob might have a better idea though.

    • I expect first teaser with Iron Man 3, full trailer later in summer with another big film.

  12. If I had to choose between 2 and 3, the third Matrix is better…because it finally ended that trilogy (which had so much potential after the 1st film).

And the My Little Pony: Secret of the Ooze (I may be combining titles) was basically a Lord of the Rings ripoff. My sister watched that movie over and over and over and over. UGH…thanks for making me relive that memory.

    • Haha. Secret of the Ooze!

      • Vanilla Ice Project!

      • Have you ever noticed that Shredder has the worst costume? I guess they spent all their money on the turtles.

Yeah, I did just watch that entire video… maybe singing throughout.

        • I watched it too. My daughter loved it. Kids love Vanilla Ice and puppets.

          • “Kids love Vanilla Ice and puppets.”

            I’m stealing this. :-)

  13. Matrix 2 was worlds better than the 3rd on a side note this weeks back an forth was great love the movie banter.

    • Glad you enjoyed it!

  14. Justin Lin passing on Fast 7 is a good decision rushing movies into production is never good idea even though they’ve said that they have a story for 2 movies but the last rushed into production movie I think I enjoyed was X-Men: First Class but Lin leaving on a high note might be a good idea he’s never going to be hotter committee…

Rob Keys got it right Highlander Tv Show was awesome (Adrian Paul!)…

Im surprised No Marvel talk with all the Concept Art & Sneak Peaks dropping last week and rumors of Zoe Saldana as Gamora…

    • Adrian Paul!!!

  15. How can you say Cars was terrible? My kids LOVE that movie and I like it as well. That being said, Cars 2 was absolutely unwatchable. A complete money grab.

Love the podcast, I discovered it a few months ago.

    • Yeah, the first one was definitely successful (as was the second). CARS was enjoyable enough – just not one of the most ambitious PIXAR films. The second one, as you say, is a mess.

Glad you’re enjoying the podcast. Thanks for listening!

  16. I prefer Matrix 2 over Matrix 3 as well, but the latter has grown on me over the years. Once you accept that you barely see anything in the actual Matrix in that movie you can start enjoying the postapocalyptic fight against the squids.

The ending sucks, though. The Smith/Neo fight as well as how Neo’s and Trinity’s stories are just handed poorly and are disappointing to say the least.

Other than that the (pseudo) philosophic gibberish got a bit out of hand in both Matrix 2 & 3. The original Matrix handled that much better.

    • I’m starting to think we need to do retro reviews or discussions once in awhile. Reactions to The Matrix conversation are all over the board… pretty interesting.

  17. Matrix 1 > Matrix 3 > Matrix 2
The third Matrix is pretty awesome…I have to agree with Kofee that the scene where the Captain is fighting off the “squids” alone is epic. Also the conclusion of the story as Neo “the martyr” (aka Jesus) is fulfilling as a fan of the story. P.S. one of the first lines said to Neo in the first movie is “your my own personal Jesus Christ, man”…they set up the plot-line from Scene #1…Cohen’s I see what you did there, haha
I’m looking forward to a new Terminator movie. I’m one of the only people I know who actually liked Terminator: Salvation. “I’ll be back…”: I’m just a huge fan of the franchise overall
Finding Dori seems like a money-grab movie. In Pixar we trust but I don’t think Dori is a strong enough character to carry a movie. I have to agree in that I’d rather have an original Pixar story instead.
I did end up watching all of the House of Cards episodes and have to say I can’t wait for the next season. Kevin Spacey is the man!
    Evil Dead:
In the opening scene where they are burning the girl, is the dad the professor from the recording in the Original Evil Dead? Didn’t he speak about losing his wife and daughter in the movie?
Great movie, we kept referencing all of references to the original and Evil Dead 2 in the theater. We didn’t see it in a packed theater but there were enough people that we all could hear people say “DON’T GO IN THERE!” and “WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?” haha

    awesome podcast! thanks for posting

    • Cheers! Thanks for listening.

That’s an interesting idea about the dad at the beginning being the professor on the recording – I wonder if that’s something they intend to explore down the line.

  18. 1. Evil Dead
    2. Scary Movie 5
    3. 42
    4. GI Joe: Retaliation
    5. Jurassic Park 3D

The best thing about the latter two Matrix movies was the video game that they spawned. All I wanted to do was to pretend I was part of the space/time-bending, martial arts madness. The movies themselves sort of bled together for me and my most vivid memory of them was that rubbish rave scene. I did, however, like the explanation of mythological creatures as system glitches.

    • Yes! Enter the Matrix! That game was pretty great.

  19. 1. Scary movie 5

  22. I’ve got it!!!!!

Ben is turning into David from Prometheus.
Kofi is Colonel Walter E. Kurtz. He’s gone to far up river… “I’ve seen a snail crawl across The Matrix Reloaded and like it…”
    Rob is ….. Rob!
    Anthony is Ray Stantz.

    • @Frank,

And you, you’re an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

      ;-)

      • I keep waiting for you to hand Ben a copy of Time Magazine and telling him not to lose any of the pages. LOL
