It seems as if there is a possibility of an Entourage movie according to Mark Wahlberg, executive producer of the TV show.

While at the premier of The Fighter, Wahlberg told Entertainment Weekly, “We have one last season left on TV and then it would probably take place after the finale.”

Entourage has been a staple on the HBO schedule for eight years and concludes in the summer of 2011. Based loosely on Wahlberg's own experiences in Hollywood, the show follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his entourage, which consists of his brother/washed-up actor "Johnny Drama" (Kevin Dillon), and best friends Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara). Jeremy Piven has won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for his depiction of the show's most interesting character, Vincent's volatile agent, Ari Gold.

The inside look at Hollywood's wheelers and dealers started out very strong, but seasons three and four were weak with the storyline of Medellin - a supposed "dream role" for Vincent  as Pablo Escobar the Columbian drug lord. With its outlandish scenarios the Medellin narrative failed to impress all but the most loyal of Entourage fans. This gave way to several seasons in which the show ultimately became a parody of itself – never a good thing. Watching the same plot lines play out over and over became as frustrating as seeing your favorite band in concert years after they’ve passed their prime.

The show is also known for its many cameo appearances by other famous faces, and it's always fun to play “spot the celebrity.” Last season, series creator Doug Ellin introduced a different, darker element to the series with the addition of Sasha Grey - the porn star who played Vince's girlfriend. Vinnie also got involved in the world of drugs and his penchant for cocaine caused his entourage much concern throughout the season, which ultimately ended with Vince's arrest. These developments may hint at something a bit more fresh in the upcoming season.

As for the possibility of a move to the big screen, Wahlberg says, “There are places to go. I’m still here all these years later, aren’t I? My story didn’t end in my 20s.” Don't get too excited though, as Wahlberg will only proceed if the story is strong. “We won’t make it if we don’t have a good script.”

The eighth and final season of Entourage is scheduled to air in the summer of 2011 on HBO.
