  1. Congrats Rob and (future) Mrs. Rob!!!
BEST engagement story I’ve heard in a long time!

    • Haha, thanks!

  2. 110 pts to whoever said “let’s talk about cool stuff” round the 30 min mark.

    • +1

  3. New Lex Luthor….JOE GATT!!!

    • Never heard of him but man does he look the part or what lol

    • How the hell didn’t we think of that? Man, that was a total missed opportunity for a good recurring podcast joke.

    • YES. I’ll tell Joe.

  4. Personally I believe that WB knows who Batman will be and it probably wont be any of the guys reported. Think about it WB/DC didn’t just decide to put Batman in Man of Steel 2 the night or week before Comic Con. They must have known going into MoS release that Bats was going to be in the sequel. Before the studio made the official announcement they were probably like “Here are the candidates lets test them out with Cavil while he’s still doing press 4 MoS before he shoots his next movie”. They probably have him and he’s probably in the gym training and waiting to be announced to the world.

  5. If you watch Armitage’s performance in North and South you can totally see him being a brooding, moody Batman.

    • True, but i watched the wolverine and everytime jackman spoke he had an extremely tamed batman like voice

  6. Congrats Rob! That’s a funny story about the limo driver.

And my pick for Batman is Karl Urban.

    • Thanks Chris!

  7. Kick-Ass 2 will be the best superhero movie of the summer! But out of the big 3, Man of Steel for sure. Then Wolverine, and Iron Man 3. But Kick-Ass 2 will dominate all these combined.

  8. Kick ass 2
    Jobs
    Elysium
    We’re the millers
    The butler
    Despicable me 2

  9. Want to talk about bald actors who look good bald, what about my boy “Lance Reddick?”

    • Lance Reddick as Lex Luthor

    • I’d be down for that. He’s the same dude in Fringe and The Wire but I love him in both.

  10. Bat Vrs. Superman vrs. Brainiac

  11. 1. Kick Ass 2
    2. Jobs
    3. Elysium
    4. Lee Daniel’s The Butler
    5. We’re the Millers
    10. The Wolverine

    http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1046802/thumbs/o-JON-HAMM-PRIVATE-PARTS-570.jpg?6
    bam.

  13. Congrats Rob!!!

I’ve always liked Karl Urban as Batman he has the look & the vibe you want. I like your Jason Clarke & Matthew Rhy picks it be interesting to have a Lex who is not old since every single incarnation of Lex has been a middle aged man.

Man of Steel > Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Iron Man 3

    • Thanks!

      • I too have Oblivion in my top 10 list of movies ive seen this year…

        • Same here. Thankfully my Blu-ray copy is going to arrive tomorrow. :D

  14. I don’t think Mads or Jude can hide their accents sufficiently enough. As for Jason Isaacs, I actually thought he was American, he hides his accent very well in Awake and that piece of garbage Abduction.

  15. Congrats Rob, great story! Good to have you back Kofi (love your angry nerd impressions :D)!

It’s disappointing that Elysium’s story is such a letdown. But chances are that I’m still gonna like it. After all, Battleship has one of the worst stories of all time but it rocks!

  16. 1. Kick-Ass 2
    2. Elysium
    3. Jobs
    4. We’re the Millers
    5. The Butler
    [...]
    10. Despicable Me 2

  17. Making some eggs while listening to the podcast! You guys want some?

  18. Box office battle

    1. Kickass 2
    2 we are the millers
    3. The butler
    4. Elysium
    5. Jobs
    10. The wolverine

  19. To the Screen Rant Underground Crew,

Latino review published a article yesterday about Warner Bros approaching Christian Bale to reprise the Batman role for 50 million dollars. If this is true. Then The dump truck theory has come to effect.Just as you guys predicted. I just wanted know how true is this story? Do you think Bale will accept Warner Bro’s offer?

    Oh, Congrats Rob.

  20. Finally got through the whole podcast! The idea of Lionel Luthor dying during Metropolis’ destruction, I thought, was an interesting idea. I wonder if he’ll be in the film at all.

Also congratulations Rob! Awesome story as well.

    • While listening to this Lionel Luthor idea, I thought it would be a great story to follow Lex as the main character and have him interacting with Bruce Wayne which gets Batman to take notice Superman. It would be different to see a movie where the villain takes center stage and tries to turn the world against the hero of the previous movie.

    • I want a writing credit if that happens!

  21. Great discussion guys.

I think a good addition to your movie reviews would be a recommendation. Give out your star rating and then recommend if it should be watched. This summer has had a lot of badly written movies that I would recommend watching in the theater.

    EXAMPLE:
    Screenrant Underground Podcast Ep. 104
    3 Stars – recommend listening

  22. Guys, guys, guys….Battleship was an abomination.

    • (cont’d) I didn’t love Elysium but it’s light years ahead of battleship.

You guys touched on something that got me thinking, suppose I kick the bucket before the blockbuster behemoth that’s coming in 2015? Do you think heaven has cinemas?

    • Don’t tell Kofi that

    • Humbug! Battleship is a fun ride from bow to stern and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Or as my friend Alfred put it: “You start pretending to have fun, you might have a little by accident.” Not every movie needs to be a Citizen Kane. ;)

      • Battleship is definitely a good time! Way to be there with that big gun, Rihana!

  23. Watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang now… Great! You guys should recommend a movie or two listeners should watch.

  24. #1 Elysium
    #2 Kick-Ass 2
    #3 The Butler
    #4 We’re the Millers
    #5 Jobs
    #10 The Smurfs 2

  25. What? Batman has kicked Supermans ass many times. The most famous being the time in the Dark Knight Rises.

  26. 1 – Kick Ass 2
    2 – We’re The Millers
    3 – Elysium
    4 – The Butler
    5 – Paranoia
    10 – The Smurfs 2

  27. 1) Kick Ass
    2) Millers
    3) Elysium
    4) Butler
    5) Planes

    10) Smurfs 2
