You can't take Eli Roth too seriously. He doesn't seem to either. Going into these movies, you should know what to expect. I think he's a strange kind of genius that is simply doing what he enjoys. That's how Tarantino started and we've learned to love his eccentricities or simply ignore them. I really enjoy watching Eli on screen simply because he is so vulgar. It's a departure for me as I simply don't think that way. He was awesome as the Bear-Jew and I hope he writes himself into Endangered Species somehow. It sounds like a lot of fun. Frankly.. make it Restricted. I love Cloverfield... but would love to see an indulgent retro take on the monster movie genre.

I hope I'm wrong but from every interview I've read about Roth, he comes off as a frat guy who's doing movies.

He seems to care about gore, "blowing sh*t up", etc.

I hope he evolves because he does have some interesting ideas.

Is it just me or does Roth sound like a complete meat head?

"I want to destroy sh*t...get as many kills as possible" How about "focus on the characters and the story"?

Hostel 1 was a pretty scary movie (for personal reasons, since I was going on a Europe trip at that time).

Cabin Fever was hot garbage. A below the average flick that was over-hyped as the second coming of the horror genre.

Can't say I look forward to any of his movies.

I guess Eli Roth films aren't for everyone, but I personally loved both Hostel movies and Cabin Fever.I think that people who don't like his movies never really liked those really cheap 80's horror/slasher flicks, like Truth Or Dare,Silent Night,Deadly Night,or Student Bodies(even though that was more comedy than anything).Roth has his niche kinda like Tarantino has his,and either you like it or you don't.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving(the movie not the holiday),it was the funniest of all of the Grindhouse trailers, and I'm sure would make an entertaining movie.
