New ‘Eclipse’ Character Posters, Clips

Summit Entertainment continues to build fan anticipation for the continuing adventures of Bella, Edward, and Jacob in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with the release of a set of IMAX character posters and two new clips from the film.

First, have a look at this scene from Eclipse in which an enraged Edward (Robert Pattinson) confronts Jacob (Taylor Lautner) after he tries to put the moves on Bella (Kristen Stewart).

Between Edward zooming out of his SUV like Sonic the Hedgehog and the Michael Bay-esque swooping camerawork, I admit that I find this scene more unintentionally funny than anything else.  Hopefully, dedicated Twilight fans will find it riveting enough.

There’s also a new clip of an exchange between vampire Rosalie (Nikki Reed) and Bella for you to see as well.

I can’t tell if it’s the cinematography or just Kristen Stewart’s natural complexion, but she looks even paler than her undead companion in this scene — her sedate demeanor doesn’t help matters either.

Finally, there are four new IMAX posters that feature the main trio, the Dakota Fanning-led Volturi, Bella, and one of the new Supervamps from the film as well.

To say that all of the characters are in desperate need of Vitamin D Рsave Jacob Рand perhaps some anti-depressant meds would be to miss the point.  So, all you Twilight lovers out there, feel free to ignore my snarky remarks and enjoy these new banners in the gallery below (via Coming Soon).

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be out in regular and IMAX theaters in the U.S. on June 30, 2010.
