OMG!!!! I can not tell you how funny it was to see these people argue over what show was better. I mean obviously the only thing out there tat will ever beat DBZ is porn lol but not the point. You guys really compared DC and Marvel crap with DBZ??? You must be kidding me… I mean really!! DBZ is waaaaayyyy to good to be compared with DBZ. If your gonna compare something at least compare something thats worth comparing to DBZ. Imma have to go with the 4900 guy because he out did EVERYONE especially sin and TM or whatever. And skip transformers… Nobody like them anyways…. The only reason why anyone ever watched that movie was to see megans twins jumpin around

i enjoyed the series a good 10 years or so ago when i was growing up. and I watched this movie for novelties sake with some old school friends i kept in touch with and you really hit the mark with this review, it was appalling. the original series wasn’t a plot masterpiece either but it ticked the boxes of an anime aimed at teens and older children. this however appealed to nobody

WOAHHH!!…I Have a few words for the director here…WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BE SO INCORRECT IN THE MOVIE..no offense..where was there a black guy in the series????…why does master roshi have black hair and no beard????? WHYYYY in the hell did bulma have one BLUE highlight??? and dont forget YAMCHA had short hair with highlights…and furthermore…WHY THE HELL DID A KAMEHAMEHA REVIVE A FREAKING PERSON!!!!!????? WHAT THA BOMBACLAT!…im done..directors suck!

WHAT?….No…just No…Someone PLEASE REMAKE THIS MOVIE, i,m so glad i didn’t pay to see this movie I LOVE DB AND DBZ, it felt as if the real Goku died once more, whats worse is that the people that never seen nor read the series would most likely hate it now and well i don’t blame them UGH!!!

Well iv seen the movie and I can understand peoples dissapointment but id like 2 point out a few things first the dragonball series doesent touch DBZ so they didnt have alot 2 work with story line wise or anything second imagine if the cartoon never existed would u be so critical of the movie ? I.E the comments on oozaru and the dragon goku etc all in all i cant say it was awful but things could ahve been better this one is just a tester for the REAL story 2 begin wen vegeta comes in2 it then we shall see weather its gonna be rubbish or if there actually gonna follow the story and charecteristics of certain people and elements of the cartoon anyone disagree ?

K, something needs to change in Hollywood. Speaking as a fan of Anime since the early 1980s, I have been witness to the travesty that occurs when an American director gets his hands on the rights to an Anime. They ALWAYS screw the whole thing up.

Of course, there are reasons, such as the fact that a lot of anime contains cultural references that American audiences couldn’t relate to, and other things, such as casting. I cite films such as “Fist of the North Star” and “The Guyver” as prime examples.

But if things are gonna change, writers and directors need to work in concert CLOSELY with the original anime creators to ensure that the end result isn’t just another waste of film. I think that this is one reason that Peter Jackson backed away from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I hope that whoever does the Ghost in the Shell film works alongside IG studios and Masamune Shirow. If that happens, I may actually shell out the bucks to see it.

As for DB:E, I watched it and was really wishing MST3k was still on the air. Or not. That film alone would have driven Mike and the ‘bots over the edge.

This movie was a complete fail. It had nothing to do with DragonBall, except for sharing the same name. The script should have been thrown out and the casting was terrible.

Let me make another important point: Goku is NOT a white guy! I don’t buy the “he’s an alien” copout either; since aliens in the DragonBall universe ARE Asian. DragonBall is an Asian genre cartoon. Hence, the charaters have Asian names, eat Asian food, wear Asian clothing, etc… No one ever mistakes Superman for being anything other than white; and he’s an alien.

So, yeah, the film sucked big time with White Goku.

i….. i dont know wat to say except that that waz the worst movie ever like wat the hell it made me so fustrated i wanted to beat the crap out of the producers i really did i am a diehard dragon ballz fan i have read the whole manga i know every fight every battle every near to death expereince that happended this movie got every thing wrong like did the producers actually watch the t.v show or at least read it? if they did then wat the hell happended yes i realize that not evey thing could have been correct they are turning a animation into a movie but they could have at least tried like for example they could have made the great ape transformation correct saiyans transform when there are a full moon as long as they have a tail they dont need a.wtf? an chi-chi should not have been a real impt charachter at the time, piccolo should have come during the budakia, there waz no budakia, krillin waz not in there,all the unnessarry hand movementz, to me it waz more like a lame kung-fu movie not drangonballz,

I don’t know how anyone involved with this film sleeps at night
every aspect of this piece of crap movie was horrendous
script/storyline/music/effects/casting/costume/acting were all disgustingly cringeworthy
i hope that this movie gets forgotten quickly so that a proper attempt may be made at completing a successful dragonball film in this future

Just saw it….. WTF!?!?!?!? I remember watching an interview with Justin Chatwin and Emmy Rossum before the movie came out saying the movie NOT a Dragonball film. However, may I just say…. WHY USE THE WORD DRAGONBALL in the title? Why name the main characters the same as the manga/anime if it’s not even lightly based on the “Dragon Ball” Series’. This film could have been GREAT!!! I wasn’t too upset with the actors and even the visual changes in their character. The most upsetting part of the film was the storyline changes. Yes, Goku and Chi Chi were older and in High School, Yamcha was A LOT older and blonde, Bulma didn’t have blue hair, Roshi wasn’t bald and as much of a perv as in the manga/anime… THERE WAS NO KRILLIN!!!, and Piccolo was totally different looking. BUT why did Piccolo have a woman do all his bidding when Piccolo is a solo act? Also, why did they say that Oozaru was Piccolo’s partner in crime 2000 years ago when Goku was shipped to Earth only 18 years prior? First of all, Saiyans are not that old of a race to ship one of their own to Earth so long ago. Second of all, Goku would have been able to turn into Oozaru on every full moon of his life (as long as he had a tail, which was nowhere to be seen in the movie), and Piccolo wouldn’t have been able to control him… (It was almost like Underworld with the Vampires controlling the Lycans… pshh). Finally, Piccolo would have spit out an egg at the end when he was defeated, forming a “good” Kame/God and “evil” Piccolo. Overall, I thought the acting was cheesy as is most of the dialogue in the manga/anime which was ok, and the visual effects were disappointing but after all it was only Dragonball… the visuals don’t pick up that much till Dragon Ball Z anyway.

I think if another movie was made I would give it a shot, but only if the directors and script writers correct the storyline.

This moveie wasn’t the worst thing I’ve seen in the last year. As for the dialogue, Dragonball Z always had bad dialogue. Further more, every storyline in the anime series was the same. How it lasted as a series as long as it has is amazing.
