These Dragon Ball Super fan theories may just be crazy enough to be true. The anime television series is one of the latest continuations of the incredibly popular Japanese Dragon Ball franchise. Akira Toriyama created the franchise back in 1984 in the manga form, but the anime adaption of the story began in 1986. The original Dragon Ball anime has had a few sequel series' over the years, with Dragon Ball GT quickly serving as a short lived followup, before Dragon Ball Z arrived in 1989.

The most recent sequel series is Dragon Ball Super, which only debuted a few years ago in 2015. Toriyama was responsible for creating the outline of the plot that once again centered around Goku and the protection of Earth. The series was wildly popular with fans of the franchise and it ended in 2018 after 131 episodes were released.

With the history of this world and hours of content available for fans to dive into, theories have run wild over what Dragon Ball Super included and how it could factor into the future of the franchise. Screen Rant's latest video takes a look at 10 of the craziest fan theories to surface so far that actually may just be true. The list touches on theories pertaining to Piccolo, Gohan, and many other characters, so check them out in the video at the top of this post.

Even though many of these fan theories are simply that and currently unresolved, future stories in the Dragon Ball franchise could prove them to be right or wrong. One of these theories directly ties in to the ending of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which was a major hit at the box office around the world. According to the theory, Broly will actually team up with Goku in the future, who was shown at the end of Dragon Ball Super to achieve an Ultra Instinct form.

So when could some of these theories be explored next? Unfortunately, it is not yet clear what will come next in the Dragon Ball universe. The ending of Dragon Ball Super: Broly leaves the door open for more Earth saving adventures, but no such plans have been confirmed at this time. There is more lore to explore, such as abandoned storylines from Dragon Ball GT, and the success of Dragon Ball Super: Broly would make it all the more surprising if a content drought suddenly hit this franchise. There is clearly a major interest in seeing more from the franchise, and hopefully some of these crazy theories will turn out to be true as the future of Dragon Ball Super evolves.
