WOW we will get to see alternate control rooms in an episode coming up, backup control room maybe so to speak. More of the of the TARDIS – Yippee something we have all missed under the helm of RTD.

How does it play out in my head. As the current control room is trashed and the TARDIS is crashing Doctor needs another. – Dashes off into the deepest parts of the TARDIS – (and here's the part I like ) – glances in on past control rooms perhaps – finally comes across “Blue Perter set” with seconds enough only for materialising all be it badly (Blue Peter set trashed like last control room – sorry kids). At end of episode (Better be a 2 parter!!!) Doctor has time to explore TARDIS and find a suitable replacement control room.

p.s. an opinion from “Middle Earth down under ” – Matt Smith is gonna ROCK!!!. I have been watching Doctor Who since the late 60's (all be it from behind the couch – yet .. I couldn't not watch it.) The only other TV I remember from that time was something landing on the moon.

Oh and a ton of you are talking about bad episodes you`ve seen her are my top 5:

5.Blink (A good episode but wasnt as fun as the rest of them)
4.42 (Not the answer to life the universe and everything. A nice episode but didnt feel like doctor who more like the film “Sunshine”
3/2.Human nature/The family of blood (Although the plot was a bit silly i still thought it could have been better. The action was made sillier with slow mo which is something there bringing back for series 5)
1. The last of the timelords (Building upon the awesome climatic way the sound of drums had ended i thought we would actually have a huge confrontation but instead the episode spends time waisting itself with some minor subplots such as a gun that could kill a timelord or the Toclafane being human or the year that never was although marthas return was great along with the doctor becoming the masters worse nightmare. The minute a paradox was mentioned you could tell the doctor is going to reverse it. Its a joke in the series. Everytime a paradox is mentioned the doctor destroys something and everything goes back to normal)

The Master’s TARDIS has been a grandfather clock, Roman pillar, a bush, a fireplace, and a giant computer that I remember. His kamelian circuit worked.

Every time the Doctor has tried to fix anything on the TARDIS it just messes something else up. The 6th Doctor tried repairing the kamelian circuit and it just materialized as random junk. He gave up on it and went back to the police box.

The interior of the TARDIS has changed over the regenerations, so I have no problem with it changing for the 11th too.

Yeah I liked it too. Thought maybe he was another stranded Time-Lord or maybe another regeneration of Who from another time.

Its right up there with the season 2 Rose/Cyberman/Dalak trilogy.

I’m currently in the middle of season 4. So far its real good but I don’t know if it will end as well as season 3.

Jordi, have you seen “The Next Doctor”? It was last years Christmas special. That was a real good one! Better than “Planet of the Dead.” (IMO)

Tbh I’ve only seen a couple of series 4 so far and will have to catch up at Christmas (box-sets, gotta love ‘em).
I’d probably go for Series 3 anyway because it had my favourite episodes; Lazarus, 42, Blink and the entire Master saga (thought John Simms was excellent).
Still think Michelle Ryan would’ve made a better sidekick (sorry, assistant) than Agyeman, Piper or Tate. Too expensive maybe.

Herbert yes, about 20 years ago I read almost all the Dune books, preferred the earlier ones.

Not a massive Sci-Fi book fan (probably Fantasy first), I’ll read the ones people I trust recommend to me as good stories. I think The Algebraist was the last pure Sci-Fi book I read. I think Adams spoiled Sci-Fi for me (in a good way though I guess).

I never said you were advocating a permanent change (at least I think that’s what you accused me of). What I said was the TARDIS is far too ingrained a part of Dr Who to be changed permanently. In a show where the title character can alter his appearance there has to be a stable unchanging element in order to continue the associative process, which is the TARDIS.

As for never being a surfer, I’m surfing the net right now!

The only thing I can figure is that it’s fear. If it changes even for an episode, too many people might like it and demand that something permanent be done about it. Tell me I’m wrong you just wrote that I’m making the argument for a permanent change. That’s absolutely false. So to squash the idea completely its easy to just imply that’s what ends up happening when you do something like that. None of you guys will ever become surfers, that I’m almost sure of.
