When it comes to everyday challenges in the Disney animated world, royalty faces their fair share. From mistaken identity to magical curses to slaying dragons, a prince in the wonderful world of Disney has his work cut out for him. Being a knight in shining armor for the local princess, however heroic that might make a character, might not be enough to help a Disney prince survive The Hunger Games.

While most Disney princes have the skills to fight an opponent in tough territory, and the charm to win over an audience, they just aren't ruthless enough to take out their biggest threats. Most of the Disney princes wouldn't understand the strategy they would need to survive in the arena of the games.

Charming

Prince Charming and Cinderella in the 1950 adaptation Cropped

There have been a lot of different versions of Cinderella's story over the years. One thing they all have in common is that her handsome prince doesn't stop looking for her after the ball where she leaves something behind. That definitely shows Prince Charming has some serious drive.

The trouble is, in Disney's animated version of Cinderella, Prince Charming doesn't have much going for him beyond that. He's never shown to be particularly skilled at fighting or diplomacy. Sure, he can dance, and he can employ a lot of servants to find Cinderella, but he doesn't exhibit any skills that would help him in the games, making him an easy target.

Florian

Prince Florian and Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

In Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, the prince doesn't get a very fleshed out personality. He, as is the case with most classic princes, is there to save the princess. Prince Florian (as he's dubbed in modern merchandise) does, however, demonstrate that he's moderately intelligent as he tracks Snow White down in the forest.

His ability to get through the woods makes him at least slightly better at handling the potential rough terrain of the arena compared to Prince Charming, making him fare a little better.

Prince Naveen smiles

Naveen certainly has an edge over the dup of classic princes that would fall before him. He is pretty adept at getting people to be on his side, as his tricking Tiana into kissing him, proves. Despite being annoyed with him, she sets out on a journey alongside him.

Naveen, however, wouldn't last long amongst his allies as it would be pretty obvious he would put himself first. While that is the nature of the games, alliances are important to get tributes through the first few days of competition, and Naveen might not make it that long if he showed too many selfish tendencies.

Adam

Most fans will know Prince Adam as the Beast. Now, if he competed in the games in his cursed beast form, Adam might come out a winner. In his human form, however, Adam might not inspire much fear into his competitors.

Adam is initially selfish and a bit of a loner. He wouldn't likely form alliances that would put others in danger. That might help him in the short term as he could hide out and hope to outlast some of his opponents, but ultimately, he'd have to fight. Considering he's adept with claws, but not with weapons, that might not end well for him.

Flynn Rider

Flynn Rider with the lanterns behind him in Tangled

He's certainly a fan favorite amongst Disney princes, and he demonstrates that he's no slouch at surviving crazy situations in Tangled, but even Flynn Rider wouldn't make it out of the arena alive. He'd make it pretty far, however, as his sense of humor and his antics would certainly charm Capitol viewers and earn him a few sponsors.

Flynn would likely opt to make alliances early - while the tributes were still training and being judged. He wouldn't, however, stick to those alliances in the arena, moving along to whatever he thought would give him his best shot. It's those betrayals that would make him a target.

Kristoff

'Frozen' Kristoff riding Sven

Kristoff is a pretty nice guy, helping a young woman he doesn't even know at the start of Frozen's story. He also, however, is a pretty strong guy.

Unlike the other princes on this list, Kristoff isn't royal by birth, but will be by marriage. Rather than being raised in a palace, he's raised on the outskirts of Arendelle and he hauls blocks of ice for a living. Even if Kristoff isn't the most skilled of Disney princes, he's certainly one of the strongest, and that gives him an edge against the tributes who never learned to fight.

Aladdin

Aladdin goes for the genie lamp

Aladdin is the prince most viewers would likely root for while watching the games. He's got roguish charm and some pretty impressive gymnastic skills. There's no doubt the Capitol sponsors would be fascinated by him.

The trouble is that Aladdin is probably the last prince to play by the rules. By trying to be smooth enough to trick game officials, he's likely to land himself in hot water and get a very large target on his back. The Capitol would want the prince of thieves gone. Without a genie to help him stay out of their grasp, he wouldn't make it to the end.

Eric

When Disney released The Little Mermaid, it marked the start of the Disney Renaissance. Prince Eric is even something of a renaissance man himself. Not only is he in line for the throne and learning about his kingdom, but he's a capable sailor, musician, and fighter.

In terms of existing Hunger Games characters, he would be most like Finnick, someone who could put on a charming face for the Capitol's political song and dance, but someone who despised the games and all that they stood for. He would definitely be able to hold his own in the arena, but there are two more princes who could outmatch him.

Phillip

Disney's Sleeping Beauty Prince Phillip

Of the classic Disney princes, Phillip is definitely a favorite. Overall, he does a whole lot more than wake the princess with a kiss in Sleeping Beauty, he slays the beast.

Phillip is one of the few princes who has to fight to get to the princess in his story. He seems pretty far outmatched since he has to go up against a fire breathing dragon that is the shapeshifting form of a fairy. Phillip perseveres though, showing that he's got sheer force of will to go along with his skills with a sword. So, who has Phillip beat?

Li Shang

Li Shang in Mulan

Technically, Li Shang isn't a prince. He's a military leader. His connection to Mulan, who is an honorary princess in Disney's official lineup, however, makes him worthy of the prince title.

There's no doubt that this is one Disney character who could rise above the other tributes in the arena. He might not want to take the lives of the other tributes, but he would understand the necessity of it. As a soldier, he's already got blood on his hands and understands duty to his country. He's also got incredible sword, staff, and hand-to-hand combat skills. No prince could beat him.
