look … if Disney can just be the deep pockets and stay out of the productions (not likely but hopeful) and let Marvel continue to be Marvel.. good things can happen. Hey if STAN LEE can endorse the this merger then I think I am gonna have a little faith in his opinion after all he is STAN LEE!!!!!…… yet the words Disney and marvel in the same sentence does put an ill feeling in my gut when they are said out loud.

Well it`s just too early for them to buy Marvel i mean like they`re already writing scripts for some of the movies, aren`t they? Also i kind of agree with rogers, i mean both Marvel and Disney are well known but i don`t want anything to happen with Spiderman he`s my favorite superhero and somehow heroes like him, X-Men and others are heroes that i like the way they are with what is carried in their worlds, i like seeing it come from the real company that made them, so i`ll only be ticked if they don`t wait to buy Marvel, cuz aren`t marvel studios already making plans to produce heroes like Captain America and Avengers? That`s why it might be a better idea for them to wait, cuz Marvel should still make their own version of it.

if any of you know a thing about disney then you know that disney is barely going to touch this except for upping there merchandise. which means that we will definatley be seeing a lot more action figure. and the only reason that disney is doing this is because everything that disney is doing now a days is all for girls! here, this is exactlly what disney has to say about this purchase…

I don`t think Disney should have interfered with Marvel at all, i mean Marvel has enough to deal with sancrinzing things that are messed up with some of their franchises, i really think they should just give it back to Marvel because it isn`t the right time for big change of movements, otherwise it`ll just mess some of the franchises up more and more.

@stycr marvel still owns the rights to the characters but other movie studieos own the rights to the movies, but disney has said that they are gonna wait till the contracts for the movie rights are up then try to buy them, they dont want to break contarcts that are all ready set up

@ rogers……um marvel didnt own the movie rights to spiderman in the first place, Columbia Pictures owned the rights to the movie. and disney has stated that they dont want to make the movies all kid-friendly, yes maybe a bit more but not G rated PG-13 is what they will probably be. so dont worry the movies are gonna be fine. in fact the x-men movie rights wernt owned by marvel either.

I heard on another website Disney will own characters such as Spiderman and Iron Man, which doesn`t sound great. I want Spiderman to stay at my age Level, but seriously some of my favorite superhero franchises to due have been turned into unorganized pieces of ****, like Spiderman and Batman. Even though i probably can`t get excited to see any of my favorite superhero comic series anymore, i`d still rather have Disney not touch Marvel. I want to have some prosperity with myself remembering the joyous times of marvel comics.

Ok, sorry disney, i feel like i`ve just insulted you, and actually you`ve got great programs all over your industry, but it`s just i don`t want Spiderman`s world to be changed, i want him to go as believable and as less believable without going too onswifted and not making enough sense, i want his world to be very mature and not really any comedy sense or anything too high-drifted or keen, there`s something about him that makes him a complete normal simple average superhero that`s a little hard to explain, he has the power of a Spider, and somehow a superhero like him is the perfect superhero that makes me see a chracteristic i could understand very much more than any superhero, and that`s why i like him alot. So I`d rather Marvel is the only thing he does since your company is so well known. I want to embrace the fact that i`ve seen something reasonable for this world to have kept living up with.

I also look at this as a way for Marvel to fuel their current success with Disney capital. Let’s face it, Disney knows how to make money. I work with adults that have Hannah Montana Kleenex boxes at their desk. That is a marketing coup. Looking at Disney’s history, they have managed to avoid any serious missteps. I sincerely doubt they are going to alienate an entire demographic by touching Marvel. They are simply going to feed more capital into the Marvel creation engine and wait for the profit to flow in. They might step up merchandising, but then who wouldn’t want an Wolverine Kleenex box, right?

Thanks, Toxin! i’m also 25 and pretty much in the same boat. But yeah, think about it this way…you’ve got The Avengers coming out, which could be 4 different movies into one. Starjammed(no pun intended), prolly 3 hours long(never been done by Marvel), and basically just a wallet killer. Marvel needs this. Disney doesn’t. Disney’s fine with their promise rings havin Jonas Bros. and other crap(Pirates OTC was not bad though), and Marvel just needed some money for these movies! It’s that simple! I mean Disney’s been involved with some adult themed material in the past so just let it happen. But…if I see a Marvel logo and then a Disney logo right beside each other at the start of a movie, I’ll be ticked.

easy, guys, look at it this way.. disney bought marvel.. not jsut the rights to the characters or the names.. so they’re gonna have all of the staff at marvel. I don’t see a big change happening in the way of the characters, because marvel has been dong a better and better job of bringing money in (otherwise, Disney would not have wanted it). i’m 25 now, and have been collecting comics and watching the cartoons since i was six.. there’s no one else in the world, i’d rather see taking marvel into their own hands than disney… you stay away michael eisner. think of the buyout like this: you’re gonna get to ride the Avenger’s Coaster and the Silver Surfer’s Magical Surf Ride much sooner than marvel was ever going to give it to you (Disney has mucho mucho theme park money :O) )

NO NO NO! I don`t want them touching Spiderman, but i wouldn`t want him to be only hero owned by marvel so i want atleast Spiderman, Hulk, and X-Men to not be touched by Disney. I`m 10 years old but the only way for me to see a good Hulk, X-Men or Spiderman is if they`re all PG-13 and i have a feeling if it`s owned by disney they`re gonna tone it all down. They ruined The fact that the Punisher who is a killer and movies are Rated R people know have to be rated G they ruined that character and all other characters that Marvel Movies are Rated R..I am also ticked off at this.
