The biggest release of the year, Star Wars: the Force Awakens, is just a few weeks away. This new adventure in a galaxy far, far away, brought to us by J.J Abrams, is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and will bring together new characters and some familiar faces from the original trilogy.
Being so close to the release date, marketing and promotional elements are at their peak. So far we have gotten teasers, three trailers (including an international one with new footage), a TV spot, and an extensive line of toys. Naturally, being one of the biggest franchises ever, Star Wars will once again take over the world of video-games, starting with Disney Infinity 3.0.
Disney’s toys-to-life sandbox video game will bring The Force Awakens to players’ homes with new toys and in-game content. Yesterday, Disney and Star Wars revealed on their social media the four power discs for Infinity 3.0 that will give fans various hours of entertainment with new characters Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
Finn, who has been seen wearing a jacket that sparked multiple theories, wears his stormtrooper armour thanks to his power disc. X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron sports his full flight suit in his figure, but with his costume power disc, you will see him wearing his Resistance flight jacket, as seen on those newly released photos from EW.
The power discs that add special powers are the Resistance Tactical Strike and the Quad Jumper. The Tactical Strike will give players the chance to count on the Resistance’s help to fight the First Order with some additional heroes. The Quad Jumper is all about exploring. Players can use this disc to explore any planet from The Force Awakens while riding this peculiar vehicle.
Just like the movie and the previously revealed Disney Infinity 3.0 figures of Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and Poe Dameron, the discs will be released on December 18, giving fans and players the full Star Wars experience inside and outside the comfort of their homes. Since the game is compatible with Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Apple TV. There’s almost no excuse to not get your hands on it.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th, 2015, followed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16th, 2016, Star Wars: Episode VIII on May 26th, 2017, and the Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film on May 25th, 2018. Star Wars: Episode IX is expected to reach theaters in 2019, followed by the third Star Wars Anthology film in 2020.
