Colorful metaphors, as per Spock in The Voyage Home. Got a good laugh out of that one.

I really enjoyed Thomas Jane’s performance as the Punisher , but I felt that the plot was not as strong as Jane’s performance.

and don’t F*&cking get me started about Dolph’s disaster.

I’m hoping for a much better storyline this time around and I’m very excited to see Ray Stevenson’s version of The Punisher.
Ray was AWESOME as Titus on HBO’s Rome.
I think Lexi is a good director ; so I feel all of this bodes well for the return of The Punisher !!!

Screen Rant says:

Yeah, I’m adopting a hopeful, wait and see attitude on this one. You never know for sure until the movie actually comes out.

I can’t say I’m a big fan of this kind of “comic book anti-hero”. At the end of the day its usually a big helping of graphic voilent revenge. And that means I have had to sit thru scenes of graphic violence against innocents.

I get enough of that at starbucks.

Outside of the casting (Thomas Jane’s leaving aside), I haven’t heard or seen anything too good about this one. The photos that have been released have been pretty bland I guess would be the word.

Plus word was the script was pretty bad, and rewrites didn’t add much to fixing it. Finally throw in the fact that I thought Alexander’s last movie wasn’t all that good. Does not bode well for me.

Ok, i’ve tried to resist this.

Is it just me or does Jeff Wold look REALLY damn creepy!? almost freekin scary!

Screen Rant says:

Kieren, lol, I have to admit I had the same thought. :-)

Actually he looks like a crack-up, always making jokes.

has anbody else here seen Rome ?
cuz I think Ray Stevenson is the guy on the right with the crazy grin.
I think the stunt guy is the one wearing the skull shirt.
what do you guys think?

The Glove says:

They should just give up on this character, the films stink big time! this new one will as well!
thank god for Dirty Harry!

Eldo Spinks says:

I love the way that people can judge an ENTIRE movie from a minute or two of footage and a few publicity photos.

God bless the internet.

“God bless the internet.”

Amen.

Frank Castle says:

C’mon this Punisher is so weak and out of shape… and old to much! Look this arms, this guy is Olive Oyl brother’s the girlfriend of Popeye The Sailor? Put this guy to workout right now to start the movie in 2018!!!

Anthony says:

the punisher returns from retirement

Dallas says:

Eh…if you’d ever seen Ray Stevenson next to anyone before, you’d know he definitely isn’t weak or out of shape. He’s a big man. It just so happens that the stunt man on the left is monstrously huge.

Also, in the current comics, Frank Castle isn’t exactly youthful. He’s aged normally since his family was killed in 1975…putting him in his mid fifties to sixty.

An older Punisher is fine by me.

Blah Blah Black Sheep says:

Just saw it opening night. Ray does an awesome job as The Punisher, with brute-force efficiency, just as the old-school Punisher from the comics had. The violence in this one is over-the-top by some critics’ standards, but I personally think it’s on-par with just out brutal The Punisher is. But then they go and screw the movie up by bringing in these hokey bad guys, Jigsaw and his gang of idiots. It’s just a strange dichotomy of a realistically believable Punisher played by Ray, matched against this lame, over-the-top, comic-bookish, almost Batman-style villain. This could have been really, really good if they had stuck with a more realistic villain, and one that was also smarter, and more calculating. Instead, these villains walk around acting like idiots, but plot holes let them seem like a bigger threat than they really are. Seriously, if you’re going to hire an army to take on the Punisher, why the hell would you hire both gang-banger black guys along with racist skinheads? It doesn’t make sense. If they would just edit out every scene Ray’s not in, it’s be a damn good movie, albeit about 60 minutes long.

Ken J says:

Lol, I said the same thing about the weak villains, especially LBJ, his acting was just atrocious. I think if they make a sequel to this instead of rebooting again (people might be getting sick of reboots), they should hand it over to someone other than Lionsgate and give the sequel the villain he deserves.

That Russian guy that delt with Jogsaw seemed pretty decent, maybe he would be pissed that Castle & Co. used his father and the gang to fight part of their war for them, and maybe send out “The Russian” after Castle like in the second attempt of the movie, in what a lot of people consider probably the only good part of that movie.
