It was only last month that it was announced that director Christopher Nolan’s next film wasn’t going to be Batman 3 but rather a sci-fi thriller called Inception, which he himself wrote the screenplay for. But it seems this thing is already fast on it’s way to getting made as Leonardo DiCaprio is in final negotiations to star.

Not much is known about this film as of yet (which is understandable considering it was only announced recently) but what we do know is it’s described, “as a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within “the architecture of the mind.”

Hmmm, sounds intriguing…

It’s hard to say whether or not Nolan and DiCaprio are a good director/actor fit as we have virtually no information about the film yet, but what is interesting to note is this will see Nolan work for the first time in seven years alongside a leading man who isn’t Christian Bale. If you remember Nolan has worked with Bale for his last three movies (The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Batman Begins), so it will be interesting to see how he does working with someone else for a change. Although I certainly don’t doubt that two talents like Nolan and DiCaprio will work well together.

Inception is set to start shooting this year and is slated for a summer 2010 release.
