Showtime is once again returning to Comic-Con, with hit series Dexter and sophomore sensation Shameless taking lead.

Cutting back from last year’s cavalcade of series presentations, Showtime has decided to focus its Comic-Con 2011 efforts on the two most popular shows for the network, Dexter and Shameless. Not to be left out, newcomer series Homeland will also be represented at Comic-Con in the form of an exclusive trailer set to be premiered.

With the major plot points for Dexter season 6 still unknown, fans attending Comic-Con this year should expect to hear more about what they can expect to see when the series returns this fall. With Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan), C.S. Lee (Vince Masuka), David Zayas (Sgt. Angel Batista), season 6 guest star Colin Hanks, executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Scott Buck and Manny Coto all set to attend, there’s only so much they’ll be able to hide about the upcoming season.

In case a panel of the wonderfully bloodied geniuses of Dexter wasn't enough, Showtime will also be presenting the first official trailer for Dexter season 6. While the previous teasers trailers were great, this will be the first time that footage from the upcoming season will be shown.

Shameless Coimc-Con 2011

Following the Dexter panel, sophomore series Shameless will take the stage in Ballroom 20, with William H. Macy (Frank), Emmy Rossum (Fiona), executive producer John Well, and other yet announced cast members all set to attend. Coming off of their hit first year, fans can expect to hear what’s in store for Frank, Fiona, and the rest of television’s most dysfunctional (yet completely operational) family. While fans of the UK series may already know what’s in store, there’s nothing like William H. Macy delivering the news personally.

Make sure to keep an eye on Screen Rant, as we’ll be bringing you live coverage of the panels, and interviews with your favorite stars, over on our Official Comic-Con Coverage Page.
