Destiny 2 recently added weapons inspired by the Battle Rifle, Energy Sword, Magnum, and Focus Rifle from the Halo series. A Destiny 2 crossover with Halo has been speculated for some time now. Most recently, preview images of the Destiny 2’s Bungie 30th Anniversary DLC Pack showed what looked like Halo-inspired weapons and armor.

Bungie also previously revealed some of the content that will be included in the Destiny 2 DLC, like the return of the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher, a new dungeon, and items inspired by Bungie’s previous titles including an armor set inspired by Marathon and a claymore from the Myth series, among others. The studio also teased what look like Halo-inspired ornament sets that include elements like Needler needles and a Halo Ring Warlock Bond. Additionally, Bungie is also releasing Destiny 2’s biggest balance patch ever alongside the 30th Anniversary content.

Bungie released a new trailer for the release of the studio’s 30th Anniversary celebration event and DLC pack for Destiny 2. The company also updated the event’s page on the official website that details the content players can expect from the event, including the four Halo-inspired weapons that players can obtain. There’s the Forerunner, an exotic sidearm that’s clearly based on the Magnum. The Battle Rifle is recreated in the BxR-55 Battler Legendary Pulse Rifle. The Half-Truths Legendary Sword is the iconic Halo Energy Sword. Lastly, the Retraced Path is a legendary trace rifle inspired by Focus Rifle from Halo: Reach.

The Halo-based weapons are part of the 30th Anniversary’s "Dares of Eternity" 6-player activity, which is the only part of the event that is free and available to all players. The rewards for the event also include the catalyst for the Forerunner sidearm, the Wastelander M5 Legendary Shotgun and the Pardon our Dust Legendary Grenade Launcher. Notably, while the four weapons do look similar to the iconic Halo weapons they’re based on, no direct connection or reference is made to the originals, which probably means Bungie was not able to acquire the official rights for them from Microsoft.

Nonetheless, the set of Halo-inspired weapons still look incredibly good and are must-haves for any Guardian’s arsenal. In particular, the Retraced Path is the first non-exotic trace rifle in Destiny 2, upping its desirability even more. Fortunately, as previously mentioned, all the weapons from the Dares of Eternity activity are available to all players and not just those who purchased the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack.
