If that was in the play CATS, it would have been the Rated R version of the play. True, it’s not the cartoon, but then again if it’s a movie it’s not going to be a cartoon. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to complain that they’re not going to make a 2 hour Saturday morning cartoon… yeah, no sympathy from me. When Transformers was in production I was as skeptical as anyone. There was a lot in the movie that wasn’t from the cartoon, but then I went back and watched the original series and read the original comics. The ideas were all there in the original works. They just all got undercut and ignored by various writers and changing studio staffs and marketing. No, it’s not the cartoon version I grew up. Nor do I want it to be. I’ve got the series on DVD, why do I want them to spend 100mil making what I already have?

Awful! Isn’t there anyone out there who wants to see the integrity of the old show upheld? I want Lion-O to look JUST LIKE HE DID IN THE CARTOON! The show originated as a cartoon….leave it as a cartoon. This is terrible. Where are the blue boots???? This guy looks like a reject from “CATS” on Broadway.

I disagree. The style is different the color is different hell even the Belt buckles has been changed. Ignore the outfit though and look at the character model him self. That doesn’t look anything like Lion-o not even a little bit. This is the exact opposite of respect the source. This is a complete and radical change.

Leotards. That’s what the source material for Thundercats was. Panthero wore underwear, boots, and suspenders. G.I. Joe changed the attire too much, but for a show like thundercats the change is for the better.

I’m a big fan of the Thundercats so to me this art is a huge let down. That doesn’t look anything like Lion-o. To be honest he looks a lot more girly and the suit doesn’t even look close to his suit. I understand making some changes from the source, but couldn’t it have more similarities other than it being Cat people.

When I heard it was going to be CG, my first thought was, great, a watered-down kid’s movie. But this concept art gives me hope. From the looks of it they’re actually targeting an older demographic, which you just don’t see happen with animated films.

Probably my favorite cartoon/toy line from the 80′s. Even more so than GI Joe or Transformers. MOTU is a close second.
