Marvel and Netflix launch The Defenders viral site as the home of the New York Bulletin, featuring headlines from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Netflix first kicked off their corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Daredevil in 2015 and the street-level Defenders universe has since grown to include a second season of Daredevil as well as first seasons of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and most recently Iron Fist. Now that all of New York City’s superheros have debuted in their own respective series, Netflix is next set to roll out the team-up mini-series, The Defenders.

Netflix’s Marvel mini-series will unite the heroes of New York City – Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – to battle against the villain Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver). A new promo for The Defenders revealed the release date, and now a viral site for the upcoming series teases the state of Hell’s Kitchen when the show begins.

Marvel and Netflix launched a website for the New York Bulletin, the fictional newspaper in the MCU that employs Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) in Daredevil. The website features an interview with Ward (Tom Pelphrey) and Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) that seems to fall after the Iron Fist series in Marvel’s continuity. Plus the NY Bulletin website includes a covers archive referencing events from each of the Marvel Netflix series. Take a look in the gallery below:

The NY Bulletin website also features an ad for Colleen Wing’s (Jessica Henwick) Chikara Dojo from Iron Fist which leads to another viral site. The Chikara Dojo website includes a video ad featuring Colleen Wing, testimonials from Iron Fist characters, and an ad for Rand Enterprises that leads to Ward Meachum’s LinkedIn profile. These viral sites are a fun opportunity for fans to explore and potentially find new clues about what to expect from The Defenders when it debuts this August.

Of all five NY Bulletin covers, the one with the least obvious Marvel Netflix series connection is “Earthshaking Groundbreaking: Midland Circle Rises to New Heights.” Of course, Midland Circle was introduced in Daredevil season 2 as a shady corporation, but it’s also the impetus for The Defenders joining forces. It was revealed earlier this year that the members of The Defenders will meet at Midland Circle offices and be forced to battle their way out of a hallway full of enemies. Plus, The Defenders teaser that announced the show’s premiere date was titled “Midland Circle Security Elevator B.” So, the inclusion of this Midland Circle NY Bulletin cover is no coincidence.

There’s little else to glean from the NY Bulletin website, but the inclusion of the interview with Ward and Joy Meachum may indicate the characters will appear in The Defenders – though they have so far not been confirmed. The Defenders is set to include a number of supporting characters from Netflix’s various Marvel series including Daredevil’s Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page, and Stick (Scott Glenn); Jessica Jones‘ Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Ann Moss); Luke Cage’s Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Iron Fist’s Colleen Wing.
