Marvel and Netflix's budding relationship is about to start their biggest adventure yet. After two seasons of Daredevil and the first seasons for Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, they are currently waiting for Iron Fist to be released. These four heroes will make up a team of street-level heroes in New York and will finally work together in The Defenders. With the eight episode mini-series bringing together every property of the Marvel/Netflix universe to battle Sigourney Weaver's mysterious villain, more familiar faces outside of the heroes have already been confirmed.

Some of the supporting characters that were already announced to come back include Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Malcolm (Eka Darville), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson). There was however one major supporting character in the Netflix universe that was not yet confirmed to appear - until now.

The Defenders Twitter account just confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll will be reprising her role as Karen Page in the mini-series. She has already appeared in both seasons of Daredevil and is currently filming The Punisher series with Jon Bernthal - who has not been confirmed for The Defenders (yet, anyway). The announcement was made with the following moving poster:

Karen being involved in The Defenders is a move that many expected given the sizable role she has had so far in the Netflix universe. While this appearance will probably not further explore her shady backstory, it could explain the fallout to the end of season 2 of Daredevil or further explain her involvement in The Punisher, depending on when these series are released. Either way, Karen now knows the identity of Daredevil and appears to be helping Frank once again during his solo series.

Throughout her appearances, Karen has consistently found herself in trouble, but has always managed to find a way out of these sticky situations - on her own or with the help of her super friends. With her now being a fulltime writer for New York Bulletin, her journalism career could force her to cross paths with the Defenders, or she could use her investigative skills to help them learn more about who they are up against.

Now that Karen has been confirmed to appear, seemingly every major supporting character in the Netflix universe has been confirmed for The Defenders, outside of Punisher and Colleen Wing - who has yet to even debut. Defenders showrunners Marco Rameriz and Doug Petrie will certainly have a tough task balancing all these characters, but each could only have a single episode appearance for that matter. The focus of the show will be on the four heroes, but filling out the show with pre-existing characters will make it feel more a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
