It’s been quite a few years since Marvel first announced their multi-series deal with Netflix that would see a number of characters brought to life. While Daredevil would be getting his second chance at live-action, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist would all be doing so for the first time. Since 2014, three of the shows have gradually premiered and been met with stellar reviews and ratings, with each show earning at least one follow-up season order. Now, Iron Fist is the last scheduled to appear before everyone teams up for this summer’s The Defenders.

Unfortunately, the excitement has been marred a little as Iron Fist has garnered mostly negative reviews. Still, fans are hoping that the combined forces of all the series’ stars and co-stars will make for an exciting street-level version of the Avengers. So far, we’ve seen a number of set photos teasing all the team-ups and meetings that are on their way. We’ve glimpsed Jessica and Luke reuniting, JJ and Daredevil joining forces for an investigation, and the team going for a ride. Now, we finally have a behind-the-scenes look at some of the action.

Thanks to YouTube user ComicCon.news, we’ve got a look at what appears to be a tense Defenders chase scene in the streets of New York. Though a bit blurry, the footage shows Luke, Jessica, Danny Rand, Colleen Wing, and Misty Knight all on the run from someone or something. Many of them appear to be bloody and beaten, with Misty needing to be carried by Luke due to some injury.

What’s notable is that not only is Matt Murdock missing from the line-up, but the shot begins with everyone in front of a green screen. While this could simply be to block out whatever is happening in New York behind them, it could also tease something more fantastical coming for our heroes. We know Sigourney Weaver is playing a Kingpin-like villain, but with the rise of mysticism in Iron Fist season 1 and Daredevil season 2, perhaps the enemies the Defenders will have to face something more extraordinary than we’ve been led to believe.

We’ve heard that Danny will be the catalyst for bringing the group together, so it’s possible part of the fallout from Iron Fist will set up The Defenders. At this point, we only have speculation to go on as so little has been revealed about the upcoming show. With a summer premiere target, however, and the show currently filming right in the middle of New York, we can probably expect a lot more information to come out soon. In fact, we could even see a teaser or full trailer following the debut of Iron Fist sometime this weekend, so stay tuned.
