Netflix kicked off its street-level corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the first season of Daredevil in early 2015; the series following Hell's Kitchen's Man Without Fear, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), earned both the streaming service and Marvel TV plenty of acclaim. The show has since been followed by season 1 of Jessica Jones, season 2 of Daredevil, and season 1 of Luke Cage. In 2017, Netflix will ramp up its Marvel offerings, debuting three series in a year for the first time: Iron Fist, the team-up miniseries The Defenders, and the first season of Daredevil spinoff, The Punisher.

The Defenders will unite the stars -- and much of the supporting casts -- from the preceding Marvel Netflix series, including Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones). The series is currently filming in New York City and new photos from the set feature two of Hell's Kitchen's heroes.

Posted by Charlie Cox France on Twitter, the set photos feature Cox in costume as the blind lawyer Matt Murdock along with Ritter dressed as Jessica Jones. Though the characters have yet to officially meet on screen in Netflix's Marvel world, it's unclear whether these photos depict their meeting or an undisclosed mission. Take a look:

In addition to the four main heroes, those set to appear in The Defenders include Daredevil's Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Elektra (Élodie Yung), and Stick (Scott Glenn); Jessica Jones' Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss); Luke Cage's Misty Knight (Simone Missick); and Iron Fist's Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). The as-yet-unrevealed villain will be played by Sigourney Weaver, as announced at this year's New York Comic Con.

Since filming on The Defenders began in late October, a number of the characters have been spotted on set -- first of which was Ritter as Jessica Jones. She was then seen facing off with Missick's Misty Knight, and taking a walk with Taylor as Trish Walker, while more recent photos have featured Colter's Luke Cage with Dawson's Claire and Jones' Danny Rand. As such, this is the first time Cox has been seen on set with Ritter as Jessica Jones.

Unfortunately, not much information can be gleaned from these set photos, but the characters may be staking out and/or following someone considering their poses and location, in some photos, in what appears to be an alley. Still, the photos do offer fans their first glimpse at a team-up between Daredevil and Jessica Jones -- though it's unclear of the latter is aware of the former's alter-ego at this point. Plus, with filming on The Defenders continuing, and the series expected to premiere next year, fans may not need to wait long before more photos or information from the team-up miniseries hit the web.
