No Statham? That's not a prequel. That's just what's become commonly known as a "reboot". Are they kidding? And the Statham movie was already a quasi remake of Death Race 2000. They should have signed Statham on for a two picture deal if they wanted to make another one. I don't know that that movie would have been anywhere NEAR as fun without him in it.

Statham was available for all the Transporters, Cranks, even The Italian/Brazil Jobs. Ok, there are a couple of remakes in there too but that's besides the point. What reason would they have for not getting Statham again other than him saying "no"? And he doesn't seem to say no to sequels a lot.

This stuff drives me crazy! Suspending your imagination is one thing but suspending actors who just made the original a few years ago? ARGH!!!!

I loved Death Race. It was just one of those movies that completely absorbs you. That said, this prequel idea is completely ridiculous.

Part of what I liked about DR was that it was a quasi-prequel to the original, rather than a straight up remake. It tried to show how a came like Death Race 2000 could have came together. I was hoping for a sequel that would expand on that idea, and show a progression from races in the prison to races across the country-side.

This prequel just has nothing going for it. Statham's not involved, Anderson's hardly involved, and the story is almost carbon-copy.
