  1. They should get Stephen Norrington to direct this film.
Forget about that stupid Crow “remake” and have him direct this.
AND…Pulp Fiction is NOT Tarantino’s best film. FACT!
Jackie Brown is his best film. FACT!
Roger Avery had a lot to do with Pulp Fiction in how good it was. FACT!
Tarantino really is not that gory or bloody, Ridley Scott shows more gore than QT. FACT!

Big time brownie points if you can guess which film “FACT!” is based from. A hint, it has to deal with Pink. FACT!

    • Making an obscure movie refrence doesn’t make you sound cool. It makes you look like a prick. FACT! and basterds is easily tarantino’s best work.

  2. Uh Jackie Brown is good… but being better than Pulp Fiction? No, sorry but no. Travolta and Jackson are the best double act in history! It is one of the funniest and quotable films of all time.

  3. @DrSamBeckett

Well we know you like Twilight. 8)

BTW, I deleted your “idiot” comment. Uncalled for.

  4. Pulp Fiction was ok, but really gets old fast and overrated same with Reservoir dogs. They were not bad they were enjoyable at first, but not worth more than one viewing. Inglorious Bastards was pretty good, but looked better in the trailers than it actually was. The Kill Bill films were trash I mean complete trash.

  5. @Rob

I like goofy movies as much as the next person, but the Kill Bill movies were simply not that entertaining. I found them quite boring actually… The dialog was not at all engaging, the action was just stupid, I don’t know, I just didn’t enjoy them AT ALL.

  6. u know ken j
    nobody gives a s*** what u like and what u don’t like
its obvious instead of a real action movie like killbill u liked XMO:wolverine and how cheezy that was
u know a full sword comes out of deadpools hand how stupid is that how could he bend hes arm when a larg sword is in your hand!!! im tellin u the reason is the sheez itself
and thats just one of many stupit things in all the crap-action movies we see these days
i just cant get it why movie-flavor of major movie viewers is garlic martini

  7. LOL pj, you had to type that in notepad or something and then paste it in here???

And I thought Wolverine, especially the Deadpool part, was pretty crappy AS WELL as QT movies, lol.

A “real” action movie is Terminator 2, Aliens, True Lies, Iron Man, the new Star Trek, Batman Begins, Die Hard, etc…

  8. Tarantino will eventually direct a non-Tarantino movie. He says he only directs movies he writes himself, but if M. Knight Shyamalan is directing The Last Airbender… Mr. Cool/Quentin isn’t far behind.

Let’s face it, Deadpool WAS mis-handled in Wolverine but WHO CARES? He’s a stupid, second string, wooden character. “A killer that breaks the fourth wall?” Big Deal! Unless your Mr. Roper from Three’s Company, it won’t work with X-Men.

And why on Earth would Deadpool get a movie? There are a dozen X-Men origins more interesting. Heck, I’d rather see X-Men origins: Dazzler

A one trick pony like Tarantino deverves a hack character like Deadpool. (Cable should’ve killed that guy when he had the chance!)

  9. I think pj forgot to take his meds or something. He obviously spends too much time twittering or texting because he can’t even spell or use punctuation. Hey pj, if you think people don’t care what Ken J likes, think about how much LESS we care about what you like. This is a site dedicated to discussing movies and tv that we like AND dislike. So if Ken J or myself think that QT films are bad, that is our OPINION and if you don’t like, WHO CARES. Sheesh, sometimes I hate when 12 year olds are allowed on the internet.

  10. X-Men Origins: Dazzler?

    lol, pass on that.

Deadpool is getting a movie because Reynolds is perfect for the role, he (and the X-Men branding) are bankable at the box office and because he’s got a pretty big geek following.

And you may just see Cable in the future X-Movies. He’s been a topic of some recent meetings about the X-franchise.

  11. Lol Ken,

I like how you go and explain the movies you like with the first three being James Cameron flicks :)

  12. Rob, at least he didn’t put “Titanic” in there, too. :P

  13. Tarintino could handle Deadpool blindfolded in a staightjacket. In fact, he’s already made the film. Sure, it was called Kill Bill

as for comics…there’s always Mort The Dead Teeenager</em….

    **********************

In any case, getting back to basics. I liked Dogs. I love Pulp Fiction. I love Jackie Brown. I hated Death Proof. I don't think he'd go for Deadpool. I won't rule him working with Reynolds for future projects.

If it were up to me…

    Joe Carnahan
That’s right. Reynolds’ Smokin Aces director.

    Top of my wish list.

Runner up: Michael Davis (Shoot Em Up)

  14. @Rob, yah, I realized what I was doing so I had to think of movies from other people, lol.

  15. Die Hard is and forever will be the king of straight forward action flicks. IMHO

  16. I have to agree, I liked T2 more, but that’s more sci-fi/action, if it’s just action Die Hard is king.

  17. Personally I think Die Hard is better than T2, but yea I was talking straight forward action. I’m including all kinds of action films but when I used the term straight forward i was meaning just plain action films with out going for some inner depth or deeper meaning just plain bad ass tough guy action film that tells it’s story from beginning to end with out exploring multiple layers.

  18. @Daniel F

Ah, yet more common ground – Die Hard ROCKS. :-)

    Vic

  19. I love how methodical he was at the beginning. Writing down every name he hears mentioned, keeping count of everyone he sees and the different names he hears to get an idea of the strength of the enemy, trying to hit them when they’re separated so he can take them out one by one, etc. etc. Almost seems plausible the way they handled it in the movie…

  20. Yea the first one was much better done. He plotted and planned in a plausible way and still got very hurt by the end. With every sequel he was less hurt and less hurt.

  21. Actually he gets pretty badly hurt in Die Hard 4.0.

  22. When you all brought up straight action movies, I had to think about that. Yes, Die Hard is great but I had to think of Arny and Sly, and even though their movies were great (Commando, First Blood, Rambo, etc…) Die Hard surpasses them all for pure action.

  23. If anyone doesn’t like Die Hard, they don’t like action movies. I still have to stop and watch it if it’s on tv and I pass by it while surfing the channels. Die Hard to action movies is like Star Wars to sci-fi movies. It reinvented the genre.

  24. I wouldn’t say Die Hard is to action like Star Wars to Sci Fi. Action fans are required to like Die Hard sci fi fans can get away with not liking Star Wars. Star Wars reinvented sci fi for the better and was a giant leap forward for the genre and I have lots of respect for it, but I honestly can’t stand the movies.

  25. You just say tht because you yourself don’t like them, lol. How convenient. :-P

  26. @KenJ

I was just at the Avatar premiere!!!

  27. Yah, I just read what you wrote in the open discussion, lol. Pretty cool man, should have just watched the movie so you can love it or hate it for what it is and not what you think it will be, lol.

  28. Actually Ken I say that because it’s the nature of the beast. In the Sci Fi genre your not required to like anything because it’s the natural order of things to love one franchise and hate the other. Hardcore Trek fans hate on SW and hardcore SW fans hate on the Trek. You can’t say your not a fan of the genre if you don’t like one of those it’s almost a requirement to hate one if you like that other lol.
