With Christmas right around the corner, the biggest draw for some isn’t necessarily a day spent with family and friends, gorging on food, sipping eggnog and pretending to be happy about receiving yet another pair of socks. This year, December 25th will mark the arrival of the brand new trailer for 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool. That fact in itself is perhaps enough to keep some fans wide awake in anticipation on Christmas Eve, while visions of Deadpool dance in their heads.
It’s probably safe to say that anyone who is a dedicated Deadpool fan has likely been pining for the Ryan Reynolds lead film for quite some time now. It’s also probably safe to say that these fans are hyper aware of the 12 Days of Deadpool campaign that has been taking place. If however, for some reason you aren’t familiar with the 12 Days of Deadpool, it goes like this: 12 days of macabre, hilarious and unique Deadpool promotions, brought to you by Wade Wilson aka Deadpool himself, culminating on December 25th with the release of a brand new trailer for his solo film.
That being said and without any further ado, today’s lovely 12 Days of Deadpool offering comes to us in the form of a Deadpool IMAX teaser and poster, reminding us that in the hyper charged world of Wade Wilson, bigger is always better.
Coming in at just under the 30-second mark, this new video tease shows us Deadpool about to enjoy a Chimichanga – after all, who doesn’t enjoy a tasty bit of Mexican food now and then? As Deadpool aptly points out however, there’s no point in going for a modest dose of goodness when there’s an even grander option available – which is exactly the point to be made regarding Deadpool’s upcoming release in IMAX.
There’s also the new Deadpool IMAX poster, which you can check out below:
There isn’t much for new footage in this lightning quick clip, but that’s alright – it’s only a matter of days (hours if you really want to feel better about the whole thing) until Fox releases the latest trailer. If you’ve spent any time watching and then re-watching the bits of footage available to the public thus far, then you know that what’s coming on December 25th is not likely to be tamer or less engaging than what’s currently on display. 20th Century Fox seems to be upping the ante with every taste it permits the public to have of Deadpool and the release of a new trailer shouldn’t be any different.
One option to consider with the forthcoming new trailer is that perhaps it will shed a little more light on the application of issues we know are going to happen but as of yet are still uncertain about. How will the movie go about incorporating Deadpool into the X-Men universe? Why is Deadpool fighting Colossus? Will we hear the voices in his gloriously deranged head? Surely there’s no end to the number of questions that can be asked. But don’t worry, all will be revealed in February when Deadpool hits the big screen. For now, enjoy the massive build up, because bigger is better – right?
Deadpool opens in theaters on February 12, 2016, followed by X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016; Gambit sometime in 2017; Wolverine 3 on March 3, 2017; and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018. The New Mutants is also in development.
