I understand the concerns behind Deadpool’s appearance in the film, however I feel it’s only temporary and he can still be easily molded into the Merc with a Mouth we know and love. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to reveal spoilers.

I love Deadpool! He is one of my favorite characters in comics and if he gets a solo film where he gets his mouth back I can die a happy man!

It depends which Deadpool. I started reading him when Joe Kelly wrote his first monthly series. That is the only Deadpool I know and love (even if Kelly’s last story kind of sucked due to not knowing when the series would be canceled). In my mind it was Kelly who made Deadpool popular. Liefeld essentially ripped off a DC character (forget who) but Joe Kelly was the one that gave Deadpool a real personality.

I’ll second @D-E-D-P-O-O-L’s comments. Ryan Reynolds, along with David S. Goyer, were really pushing for a Deadpool feature during the filming of Blade: Trinity.

Ryan Reynolds was selected specifically because he knows the character and can carry a movie on his own (if need be).

I did see the character bio on Deadpool. It looked really badass.

If there is a spinoff, it should be when he was a mercenary and the disastrous events of the upcoming “Wolverine” film.

mmk I just wanted to make the comment that Ryan Reynolds has been a Deadpool fan for a really long time so he doesn’t have to do a lot of “reading up” on wade. I really think he’s the perfect choice and lets face it there’s no real way to ruin wade wilson because we never know what he’s going to in the comics anyways, that’s what makes him so amazing! As long as he has the jokes, mentions bea arthur, and breaks the fourth wall… we’re good.

I think Ryan reynolds would be a good deadpool to be fair he has the quick wit to pull it off and I have no doubts about the spin-off just so long as they don’t ruin the suit! I think what they are trying to do in the Wolverine spin-off is show him before everything in his basic state without the suit so all of it before he goes off and puts his bad-ass suit on which tbf is fair enough its no good to throw in a character with as much depth as he does into a film that isnt about him but have all his background already done. So i think what fox have done is have him before all his scarring or in this films state I think they have done his scarring as part of the film. Which I think was a smart move my fox as they have now left space for future development on the character in his own film rather than complicating it all by trying to tell his story in a ilm that doesnt have his name in the title.

If they play it safe and give him his own film so we get the full blast of deadpool rather than a 10 minute slot in a film then its all gravy!

I would See a Deadpool film,
but I wish they would have saved him for his own Film.

I am waaaayyyyy excited about a Deadpool movie. Look, I love Wolverine but I am far more excited about the potential Deadpool movie then I am about Wolverine.

The good thing is this: The producers and studio realized they needed more Deadpool in Wolverine. This means that if they screw him up in Wolverine, hopefully they will heed the feedback and retool him properly for any spin off. Otherwise, even though it would never happen, as Brodie Bruce said, let Marvel do it properly.

i kinda wish Fox would Drop Deadpool .
and let MARVEL Reconstruct it in to a good COMIC BOOK Movie.

but if fox does spin-off i hope the at least try to stay true to the comic book eventhou the have yet to.

they might take a hint from all the Fat-CaSh Marvel.Studios
is making.

I would like to see it happen but I’ll wait until after seeing Reynolds performance in Origins. That said I don’t know that it could even be done. Reynolds would really have to read up more on Wade Wilson. Even then I don’t know if that would be enough.
