Comic-Con International 2015 begins this week in San Diego and the Screen Rant team will be there! So to will the "Merc with a Mouth" even if Twentieth Century Fox has yet to officially confirm a panel for Deadpool.

Despite Marvel Studios opting to host their traditionally impressive panels with accompanying set of announcements outside of Comic-Con this year (they announced their next set of films back in October 2014), 2015 may still prove to be one of the biggest years ever for the annual convention in terms of superhero movies. And it a big part of that will be from the X-Men franchise.

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer already confirmed that his ensemble will be present at the show, following up on the X-Men: Days of Future Past/The Wolverine presentation in 2013, and it's a sure bet that Deadpool and Fantastic Four will be there too. Especially given that Deadpool is taking the variant cover of Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con special issue.

After all, it was during Comic-Con last year where the Deadpool test footage leaked online resulting on Fox green-lighting and fast-tracking production on Deadpool, making it their first R-rated Marvel picture. The film has already wrapped production in Vancouver where I had the chance to briefly visit the set (stay tuned for more on that in the future!) and is set for a February 2016 release.

Note the speech bubble. It references the fact that Ryan Reynolds was People Magazine's "sexiest man alive" in 2010.

With Fox's marketing department brilliantly playing into Deadpool's uniqueness (see: R-rating announcement and Mother's Day photo), we can expect to see some action-packed, comedy-heavy footage of Ryan Reynolds in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center. And timed well leading up to this week's event, a pair of other amazing art pieces also surfaced online from the wonderfully talented Eric J. Valdes.

The second promo shot appears to be a low-res version of what we presume to be the first official Deadpool poster which may release in full during the convention. How great is that costume?

It's unlikely, but we'd love to see Fox take advantage of their panel to make some announcements or offer a tease of Gambit and Wolverine 3 which both have directors and release dates. Bring out Hugh Jackman!

The 20th Century Fox panel takes place 5:45 PM-7:30 PM on Saturday, July 11th in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center. That night Fox will also be hosting a special screening of X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut (which we gave out VIP wristbands for).
