A new photo featuring the reunion of Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and his pal Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) has recently made its way to the internet. The pic comes from the set of Deadpool 2 which is currently being shot and is scheduled to be released June of next year.
The sequel to one of the biggest surprise hits of 2016 has been in production since June in Canada. Over the last couple weeks, various behind-the-scenes photos have emerged online including Deadpool's trip to the X-Mansion, some action scenes being shot and even Josh Brolin in preparation for taking the role of Nathan Summers/Cable which only intensifies the anticipation that fans have for the property.
The brand new snap from the production, however, comes from Reynolds himself via his official Facebook account. The actor posted the image of him in his full red and black superhero garb (without the mask) with Uggams' in her Blind Al get-up with the caption: "Spent another day with this beautiful lady. Lost in each other's ears. #BlindAl". The two sat cozily on a sofa which appears to be in Al's house where Wade used to stay in in the first film.
The last time we saw Blind Al was before the climactic battle in Deadpool after Wade, with the help of Weasel (T.J. Miller), got ready to save Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) from the clutches of Ajax/Francis (Ed Skrein). Since then, it's anyone's guess what she's been up to or if Wade has been keeping contact with her. And despite the fact that the Al was only in a handful of scenes -- mainly for comedic purposes -- she was actually an integral part in Deadpool's suit-building after she haphazardly suggested red as a better color option for the anti-hero's battle costume.
Aside from Uggams, Baccarin, Miller, and Karan Soni (Dopinder) are all slated to reprise their roles in Deadpool 2. Newcomers, on the other hand, include Brolin with Zazie Beetz as Domino, Jack Kesy as the film’s main antagonist and Shiori Kutsuna in a yet-to-be disclosed key role. The sequel is being helmed by John Wick director David Leitch, following Tim Miller’s exit, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also back to pen the script.
Not much is known about the sequel's narrative, but Brolin recently teased that the follow-up will be much funnier than its predecessor. We can expect more information on Deadpool 2 during 20th Century Fox's Comic-Con International: San Diego panel later this week.
