Before the first Deadpool movie even confirmed that he would be appearing in the sequel, comic book fans everywhere were already taking it upon themselves to talk about the possibility of seeing a live-action version of Nathan Summers, aka Cable, in a future Deadpool or X-Force film. Then when Fox went on to announce that Deadpool 2 was in the works, the character quickly became a constant topic of fan discussion, only to eventually become one of the most fan-casted roles in comic book movie history.

After months and months of waiting, with actors like Michael Shannon, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, and Kyle Chandler all rumored to be attached to the role at various times, it was finally announced that Josh Brolin was cast as Cable in Deadpool 2. Fans took to the casting decision with open arms rather quickly, with multiple creative team members involved in the film -- including Ryan Reynolds himself -- taking the opportunity to express their excitement over Brolin's casting.

It hasn't taken long for fans to start discussing and speculating what how Brolin will represent the character the sequel either. Luckily, BossLogic is to the rescue once again, with some new fan art imagining what Brolin will look like as the time traveling badass in (via Comicbook.com). Check out the artwork for yourself down below:

This artwork is basically what one would imagine Brolin dressed up like Cable would be, with the dyed silver hair and all, and it's not much of a stretch by any means since Brolin has sported this military-type look in some of his films before. His rugged, straightforward sense of humor only further illustrates what a genius bit of casting this likely is on the part of Fox and everyone involved in Deadpool 2. However, it should be noted that there was still a bit of confusion amongst the fan community when Brolin was announced for the role, mainly since he's mostly been busy shooting Avengers: Infinity War for Marvel as of late, where he'll be appearing as the Mad Titan Thanos.

Considering the sheer size of Thanos' role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seemed unlikely that Marvel and Disney would be willing to let Brolin play around in any other superhero cinematic universe in the foreseeable future, but this news apparently disproves that notion. With Brolin signing on for multiple films as the character, it looks like fans can expect to see him as Cable for quite a long time moving forward. While that might throw his future as Thanos on the big screen into question, it just acts as further proof of how in tune with the X-Men universe Fox and its filmmakers appear to be at this point.
