The new trailer for The CW's DC TV lineup hints at the future of the Arrowverse and teases yet another crossover. In a little over a month, ArrowThe FlashLegends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl will all return to the CW. When they do, the various heroes of the Arrowverse will be picking things up after chaotic finales with the threat of new villains looming over them all. Star City will see Kirk Acevedo arrive as Richard Dragon, a powerful new crime boss. Team Flash, meanwhile, will rescue Barry from the Speed Force only to face Katee Sackhoff as Blacksmith.

Because of these new villains and all the disasters that occurred last season, it's no surprise that the characters of each show will be looking to their friends for some help. While the main hero of each show has a strong team around them - or the show is a powerful team, in the case of Legends - some outside help is always appreciated. Along with the big yearly crossover that will pull each series together, this season will also continue to the tradition of smaller team-ups. And the latest trailer for the Arrowverse looks to tease one of these meetings.

The CW has released a new promo for their upcoming DC TV shows, mixing old footage from each series with some new action. The biggest reveal is a scene where Wally 'Kid Flash' West and Nate 'Citizen Steel' Heywood share some friendly banter about taking out villains. There's no telling if this is from the main crossover or a smaller team-up - at this point either is a possibility.

With Supergirl playing a proper role in the annual crossover this year, the event will be the biggest one yet for The CW. But the shows are well-known for peppering in various character team-ups along the way. Early in the new season of The Flash, for instance, Felicity will be returning to Central City to join forces with Iris and Caitlin. The entire vibe of The Flash is basically built off of Felicity's character from Arrow, so it's always a welcome visit when the tech genius joins her fellow lighthearted nerds on The Flash.

And it won't just be Arrowverse crossovers on The CW this season. A recent set photo from Riverdale featured Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, opening up the doors to a future where The CW pulls all of their shows together for a ratings-smashing super-event. Until then, the return of each Arrowverse show and the promise of crossovers both big and small will have to hold fans over.
