The original comics went beyond the extremely violent, in fact, they even did a comic series where all of Lobo’s kids do battle and Lobo becomes the last Czarnian again.

If they keep to this adult stuff, it should be an awesome movie.

cat says:

yeah it was brutally violent so they need the right vision and director.

Hero Supreme says:

I think Lobo’s day has come and gone. He was a fad like Howard the Duck in the 70s and I can imagine A Lobo movie as described in that script review being a disaster.

Ironghost says:

Oh Heck No. He was a joke by the time they put him out to pasture.

Oscar! says:

@ Hero Supreme, but wasnt Howard the Duck a blockbuster movie? lol

English Gavz says:

I remember him! He was in the Superman cartoon series! And the Justice League cartoon series, I loved him! Yay!

Hero Supreme says:

@ Oscar! What would be cool is Lobo vs Howard the Duck. Thats got blockbuster written all over it.

Lobo, Gambit, and Punisher were all big in the early- to mid-1990s. Heck, I’m reading Iron Man vol. 1, issues 280-300, and they feature Gambit upfront in all the X-Men ads, circa 1992/93.

I loved Lobo !!!
The last Czarnian was a great series :)
I’d looooooooooove to see a Lobo flick but they must be careful not to tone down the nasty edge of his character.
As for Howard the Duck and Lobo in the same movie …?? that would work for me only if Lobo kills Howard violently and early in the film :)

( I always like Howard in the comics but his movie was truly putrid )

If done PROPERLY, with the right mix of adhering to the original intent to capture the old fans, and yet, pull a new fan base into the fold, this could be good.

THEN, Marvel and DC could do what they did way back with Lobo and Wolverine facing off… two of the happiest boys from each universe…

Lobo: “I’ll be pickin’ my teeth with ‘em (wolvey’s claws) when I’m done with ya, ya fraggin midget.”

Wolverine: “Gut ya”

Lobo: “Squash ya”

LOL…

If you can’t kill Lobo, and Wolverine regenerates… this could be a very very long movie.

OK, back to reality… DC and Marvel characters? Same movie? Yea… that would be the day.

Hell, it took 20+ years to get Aliens and Predator together on the same screen!

‘Nuff said.

Never liked Lobo. It always seemed more of a parody of the “ultra violence” than a serious jaunt into the genre.

Gridloch5 says:

Wolverine whooped Lobo’s ass in Marvel vs. DC. Lobo thought he won until Wolverine got up.

Charles Darwin says:

First off, Lobo was never MEANT to be a serious, violent character. From his first solo days, he was immediately, a lame-brained, ultra-violent, wise-cracking quasi-hero mercenary, and was never meant to be anything else. He never was. Second, any movie that is made of him, if it isn’t at LEAST a hard-R rating, will be crap. The ultra-violence was pretty much to only reason to read Lobo, and I still do, in back issues. He’s hilarious. Last, as far as the ol’ Marvel vs. DC fight, the victor was decided through FAN VOTES before the issues were drawn. Lobo can not only heal like Wolverine, he can regenerate his entire body from small cell groups, if allowed to. Wolverine won with fan votes only. Lobo could fight him to a standstill all Wolverine wants, and since Lobo also tends to fight with Tech (energy weapons, nukes, etc….), poor ol’ Wolverine would be a useless skeleton in seconds, in a real fight.

Yay!! My favorite bastich on the big screen? Divine!! Hope the story’s good!!

BB says:

Can you please cite your source for this statement?

“Anyway, Warner Bros. may finally be moving forward with a long-in-gestation film adaptation.”

Your article has absolutely no connection to current facts. It’s lovely that you like Lobo, and want to know who else does, too. But your title suggests a movie is in the works. What is the basis for this claim?

BB says:

Yep, I’m a jerk. I missed a couple of key sentences. Reading Latino Review now.

jayman4ever says:

YES!!!

Paul (SNAKE) Wilson says:
