Bland bio-pics, shameless pop documentaries,
insipid retreads and repeats —and now this.

history. I mean 70 million murders -in ‘peacetime’
in the name of ‘social progress’ unoutted and

Scorsese has a fan following, and he seems to always deliver for his fans. I have known some guys who will ALWAYS go to his films, and these aren’t exactly film going people.

I foresee “Silence” as being another film that will deliver for his fanbase in a big way. I am looking forward to it.

I couldn’t imagine any director other than Scrocese making Taxi Driver or Goodfellas. That’s why I consider those great Scorcese films. On the other token, I couldn’t see anyone else directing Gangs of New York, Raging Bull, or The Last Temptation. I just didn’t enjoy them on any level.

With the Aviator, I feel that the movie wasn’t necessarily a Scorcese film. I think that it’s a story that would be safe with almost any director at the helm.

Have you not seen My Left Foot? An overrated movie but Day-Lewis is astonishingly good in it – only second to his performance in TWBB.

I have enjoyed every movie I have ever seen DDL play a part in..I haven’t seen his entire filmography but those I have seen … well his performances are magnetic, powerful and unforgettable..

He is one of a kind like Brando & DeNiro

I have to say, of all the Martin Scorcese films I’ve seen, I have only like 3 1/2. One of those was the Departed. Since that’s a remake of an Asian film, It only counts for half. I enjoyed Last Waltz (which is a concert movie and a formula that you can’t screw up), Goodfellas, and Taxi Driver. Other than that, I really haven’t enjoyed anything of his that I’ve watched. I’d say that Raging Bull, Last Temptation of Christ, and Gangs of New York are definitely on my bottom 10 of all films I’ve ever seen. I know that opens me up to attack here, but even when something is “great” someone will inevitably hate it and often times something “terrible” will be loved by many.
