  1. Damn, this episode hit the 3 hour mark. Awesome!

    • Yeah, we could have probably done without news – and presented this as another Special Edition. But I felt like most people would want to hear the news, review, and interview. So we went over 3 hours (this time).

      • Been listening to a lot of your recent back catalouge while working the past few days, great job guys. No other movie podcast gets as much right across the board as much as you guys, great job.

        • Cheers! Thanks for listening!

  2. Ben, I’m glad you decided to keep everything! I love listening to you guys discuss news and all. More is always better on the SR Underground. Don’t be afraid to have longer episodes in the future! We’ll be listening!

    • Ben, I swear this isn’t one of my fake accounts!

      • It’s not your fault.

    • Not EVERYTHING :(

  3. Am I the only person who was moved and impressed by blue eyes?? I thought his journey was one of the better parts of the movie!

    • Blue eyes is Ceasar’s son right-the one that got mauled by the grizzly in the opening scene.

Yes, I actually thought his performance was the best of all.

When he watched Koda throw the ape over the rail in the tower because the ape wouldn’t kill a human, you could read in Blue Eyes’ expression everything he was thinking about the evil he had just witnessed.

He was actually great in the way he conveyed some of the simplest emotions of disbelief and fear of what Koda was doing to the apes.

Didn’t know apes could have blue eyes.

  4. woooooooowwwwwwwwww! make every episode 3 hours Ben 😉

  5. I wish the interviewer didn’t keep interrupting Matt Reeves. The director would be in the middle of saying something and a few times the interviewer would talk over him. It was frustrating.

    • Yeah Matt Reeves couldn’t get a word in edge wise…

  6. BOB
#1 Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
    #2 Sex Tape
    #3 The Purge: Anarchy
    #4 Planes: Fire & Rescue
    #5 Transformers: Age of Extinction
    #10 Deliver Us From Evil

  7. Planet of the apes
    Sex tape
    Purge 2
    Planes 2
    Transformers 4
    Deliver us from evil

  8. Good Podcast. I cant believe you guys wouldn’t want to see Doomsday in Superman v Batman. It would be much better than Lex Luthor and the Toyman.

Just because its Doomsday doesn’t mean Superman has to die.

  9. Box Office Battle:
    1. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
    2. The Purge: Anarchy
    3. Planes: Fire and Rescue
    4. Sex Tape
    5. Transformers: Age of Extinction
    10. Deliver Us From Evil

  10. Okay Anthony Ocasio, “how much of this kidnapping do you know about?” LoL. Great Podcast all of you! I really enjoy the ones that you guys interview someone from the movie that you just reviewed. This usually convices me to watch it in the theater, or wait for it on Netflix.

  11. Wish Matt Reeves was doing Star Trek. What he’s doing for Planet of the Apes (their gradual descent into the domineering race, tearing down the known world), I believe he could do the opposite in Star Trek (bring that optimism and uplifting adventurous aspect in Trek along with a sense of awe and wonder).

I like how Dawn gave you a perspective on both the good, the bad, the everything. And it didn’t jump from scene to scene but let those feelings linger and simmer within you.

Personally, I think they should avoid time travel shenanigans. Or if they want to go that route, maybe they could instead use time dilation instead. Humanity sends up a prototype high velocity space vehicle to let the Earth heal from the extinction type event. It goes very fast resulting in time progressing very slowly on the ship but many years passing by on Earth. They come back to find that transformed Earth many years into the future due to time dilation. I like the toned down and somewhat more realistic approach of the science they’ve done in this reboot.

  12. So when are you guys going to get Manuel Gonzalez on the podcast?

  13. I still think Anthony needs his own podcast. Not even that actually, just give him a mic, leave it on and record his thoughts and opinions on…anything! 😛

  14. For any confusion regarding the snub of Vee, the second season of OITNB will be eligible for the 2015 Emmy’s. The nominations this year are for season 1

  15. See: GOD was right about taking fruit from the tree 😉
