  • David is leaving in 2010 and being replaced by Matt Smith. Matt is only 28 years old! I will really miss David. :-(

I was very sad to read this, I just started watching Doctor Who this year, and it has already become my favorite TV show. I think that Tennant is perfect for the role of the Doctor and really hope that they can find a suitable replacement.

Tennant leaving is a serious blow to the show. But it'll recover. Personally, I hope Carlyle gets the part. Pertwee is the sentimental favorite though.

Tennant will be missed, he played an excelent Doctor, to bad it was a short run, but no matter who the next doctor is, I'll still stay faithfull as a Dalek can be.

Will Tennant be picking, seeing as he is already leaving?
Personally not a fan of Tennant as the Doctor. Liked him in other things and thought he would be a great choice, but soon got tired of the shouty shouty acting.
But am looking forward to the changes, think things will go well.
  • David
Well, we knew it had to happen. The last two doctors have been my most favorite also, and I can't pick one over the other. I believe Andy S is correct, that Davies will undoubtedly pick someone with the same sort of quirky infectious style of acting to keeps us all coming back for more!
  • Longest running Sci-Fi show ever. Yep. But still...
  • Andy S
That is sad news indeed. I really liked Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor. Made SciFi Fridays very enjoyable. I do, however, have faith that Russell T. Davies will pick someone who will also make a great Doctor. The series is greater than the actor, right??
