I think he was just trying to quelm the Twilight fan populus. I mean, if you offend the fandom of Twilight, then there goes all your money. Where’s the word of mouth? I know some girls that would be serious enough that they wanted to boycott Twilight if it was done wrong, or just come as an angry mob to Catherine Hardwicke’s house.

I’m not a big Twilight fan, sure it can be fun watching at a sleepover or something but as a overall movie or book? No, definitely not quality.

Surely getting someone who isn’t a fan-boy to work on it is the best idea as they wont be held back by some of the books more unliked/ impractical/ vampire baseball stuff delete where needed.

Good to hear Maritza. People can be pretty obsessive about their beloved series, it’s good to hear (read) that there are those who can be objective, like you. =)

I for one am not sure that I can be totally objective about things I love.
Anyway, I don’t know the series (only read the general plot in various sites) but I do think that someone a little detached from the saga can understand and perhaps improve the quality of it.
