Fans of balding men that refer to someone as “Denise Handicapped” and that loath bare midriffs are in luck because at last night’s PaleyFest event, Larry David all but confirmed that his hit HBO comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, would be back again for an eighth season.

“I think there’s a pretty good chance (that “Curb” will return). Not definite yet, but we’re working on some stuff.”

While it’s not an official announcement or even a confirmation, when someone like Larry David says that he’s starting to “work on some stuff,” that’s just as good. There’s no way HBO is going to not give David another season. Even if he was “working on” the worst premise in the world, it would still make it to air. If you don’t believe me, check out what Seinfeld can do when he calls in all his favors with The Marriage Ref.

I must apologize for even putting Curb Your Enthusiasm in the same paragraph as The Marriage Ref. Unlike Seinfeld’s recent bomb, Curb Your Enthusiasm has not only continued to receive glowing reviews, but last season’s Seinfeld reunion helped the show receive record high ratings for both the entire season and finale.

Don’t expect to see the entire cast of Seinfeld making any more appearances however, as David has already said they’re done with that mishigas. Despite everyone remaining silent about what ideas David has for the next season or if Larry and Cheryl will eventually get back together, two things are certain; Leon Black (J.B. Smoove) and Marty Funkhouser (Bob Einstein) will return.

If, for some reason, Larry David or HBO still have any doubts about another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, just listen to Einstein, “…I think it would kind of sad and stupid to stop now. There’s no reason to.”

Despite there being a lack of Seinfeld, would you like to see Curb Your Enthusiasm return or is it time for the series to end? Any chance we’ll get to see Marty Funkhouser tell another inappropriate joke about a kitchen sink?

If the show does get picked up for another season, you can expect to see the eighth season premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm this fall on HBO.

  5. My brother and I started watching the show when it first came out and we loved it. I use to think that no season was going to top the one in which Larry stars as Bialystock in “The Producers” but last season did just that! If they want to continue it, great! If not, I'm not going to say that it ended horribly. Excellent show and awesomely funny!
