They timed the release of that movie perfectly. Middle of the winter to early spring, usually a dull time for movies. I think that makes what TDK is doing even more impressive. It's cranking out the #1's in the height of the summer movie season. The fact that it beat of the new Mummy movie last weekend was impressive. Does anyone think there will be an X-Files 3? It's at number 7 on the all time domestic box offices, and will probably pass Dead Man's Chest (Pirates 2) in a few days. It's sitting at $405.7 million. I predict it will be at around $450 million by Monday, more or less. It'll be the number 2 movie (domestically) of all time, discounting inflation of course, by Sunday August 17. It is slowing down, so it may not beat Titanic. But we'll see!
