dark knight rises mission impossible Dark Knight Rises Prologue IMAX Screening Information

The news that the six-minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises would be screened in front of select IMAX prints of the impending Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol first leaked out in late October 2011. While Warner Bros. confirmed that story a while back, the studio has only now unveiled the official list of IMAX theaters that will be showing the beginning of co-writer/director Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated Batman trilogy finale.

Many fans will likely be annoyed to learn that Warner Bros. is sticking to its original plan of releasing the Dark Knight Rises footage exclusively in 70 mm IMAX theaters; everyone who doesn’t live within close vicinity of one of those screens will just have to wait until Summer 2012 to glimpse the prologue in the big big screen format.

  1. Figures, the closest one to me is 2 states away. Don’t think that’s gonna happen.

  2. I really want to see this but at the same time, wait for July…. GAH idk what to do.

    • If i go ill have to go to az mills imax since thats the only one in az lololol

  3. well it’s not showing in the theatre i typically attend but in one that’s about 20 miles away. i’m pretty excited about both movies so i’ll end up making the trip!

  4. Well, I guess I’m going to the Henry Ford.

  5. they film half the movie in pittsburgh but dont put it in our imax? lame but i guess now i will be able to hold of till july

    • Yeah that sucks!

  6. Relax guys, it’ll be all over the internet within hours!

    • that’s exactly what people said about the Amazing Spider-Man footage from SDCC…and that has yet to be seen

  7. This list doesn’t really mean a whole lot. My theater isn’t listed on here but it’s gonna be playing at a theater half an hour from me. Just call every theater around you, especially Rave theaters because they have IMAX in certain theaters now.

    • Yeah, the Rio in Gaithersburg, MD wasn’t listed but it says on their website that they will be showing it on 12/16.

  8. ah ya my town austin tx is the first one. I will be in line on day one for this. only 4 miles from my house.

  9. Oh weak, I thought this was going to be on the IMAX Experience screens too! Weak.

  10. YES! My IMAX made the list. :) Now, to convince the wife to undo this leash…

  11. I don’t want to see MI:GP. Not paying a full ticket to see a prologue either. Don’t care how good it is.

  12. No Imax in P.R, no luck for me

  13. Yes!!! I guess living in San Francisco has it’s perks!!

  14. Closest one for me is 1 state and 3 hours away in Nashville. Was kinda thinking about New Year’s Eve there anyway. May check it out if I go. Want to see it but kinda want to wait til July also. Decisions decisions….

    • Wait overlooked Indy. That is closer and I go there a lot. Colts fan. Although I haven’t been up there this year. We all pretty much know why lol

      • Colts fan?! Have you seen their record?

Although I haven’t been up there this year. We all pretty much know why lol

        Oh, I guess you have.

        • LOL…yeah I have seen it. I have seen them once this year however but it was in Cinci. Live even closer to there. Sad day when you can’t beat the Bungals lol :D

  15. wow how lucky am i, I just moved a few months ago and now live 2 blocks away from one of the theaters.

    super excited

  16. out in Manchester city centre… 5 minutes from my house. Although do you think im gonna wait to watch it when i can just as easily blast it on the internet!?!? DONT THINK SO!

  17. The closest one is two hours away and it doesn’t help that I have no interest in seeing the fourth Mission Impossible especially not in theaters. Both 2 and 3 were terrible and Tom Cruise is annoying so why bother?

I’ll just wait to watch a really crummy quality hand held recorded version of the prologue online you know it will happen.

  18. CA – Ontario Palace Stadium 22 + IMAX – Ontario
isn’t in L.A. county its in Riverside county. close to me cause I’m in Moreno valley.
but ehh jus for 6 minutes I can wait till u post a video

  19. yes!! the theater in calgary is showing it!! ura!! only 45min away from me =DD

  20. Agh, it’ll be all over the net and on TV within days of showing, learned my lesson when I saw the prologue to The Dark Knight that showed before I Am Legend IMAX. -I can wait.
