Woot, does that mean we can start pre-ordering it now? I’m gonna go check Amazon.

Ken J says:

Damn, nevermind, apparently it’s not available for pre-order yet. Oh well.

I guess I’ll just wait for my Iron Man DVD to “reveal” itself in my mailbox… Pre-ordered that the second Amazon had it listed, lol.

Coren says:

This looks pretty cool. I’m still hoping for some kind of director’s cut, though, as I really think the movie would have been even better with some extra minutes.

I also want to point out that getting a Blu-ray player needn’t be expensive. Just get a Blu-ray drive for your PC, you can get one for less than 100€ in Europe, I guess they won’t be more expensive elsewhere. Of course you’d need the hardware to match it, but considering the fact that even the cheaper graphics cards make decoding Blu-ray a lot easier on the processor, this shouldn’t be a problem. Then just hook up said graphics card to your TV and you’re all set. That’s the way I do it anyway…

Let us begin the “Win a Dark Knight DVD” contest!

wingnut says:

If you’re willing to shell out some cash for a PS3, it is (in my opinion) the best BR player out there.

@wingnut

That’s what I hear - now I just have to convince my wife, lol.

@kyyle23

I’m 90% sure I will be giving away TDK DVDs soon. :-)

Ken J says:

Only 90% sure?? You should be like the athletes and be 110%!!! lol

Crestfallen says:

Go with a PS3 for a Blu-ray player. You can play games if you ever get the urge and you can be certain the player firmware will always be up-to-date with direct downloads from Sony.

wingnut says:

Vic - I’m all about helping out the bro’s. Pitch it to her as a cost savings. Any BR player out there doesn’t do nearly as much as a PS3 (websearching, video chat, etc). Plus, most any of the cool movies will be BR (not sure what she likes). And, if you have kids, Disney films look so much better in hi-def.

Keep soldiering on….

H.OM.E.R. says:

Vic, i have told you many times and will say it again, get a PS3!!
You will be so full of enjoyment. My wife also gives me a hard time for my toys and all, but in the long run, they love us, and will let us have it if we really want it and its not just a fiddle. My brother’s wife was also skepticall until i played POC II and III as well as chicken little on her new 42: 1080p LCD.

Nowadays you can get a BD player for like $229 (look for Sony BDP-S300) on froogle. PS3 just gives you an edge of serving as a media center, upconverter DVD player, game console, Linux computer, as well as a movie player from the selection the PS Network allows you to rent or download.

IMO, such a movie buff like you shouldnt be thinking this too much.

H.OM.E.R. says:

Ill say it again Vic, get a PS3!!!!

what better than having your own little IMAX at home lol

HOMER

I just picked up a 60″ Sony HDTV and DirecTV HD/DVR and I thank the heavens my wife let me get those. :-)

I’ve got a wife, daughter, mortgage, private school, etc., etc.

You obviously think this site is WAY more profitable than it is. Believe me it’s not. I work a day job and run other sites as well to make ends meet.

I’d hate to think about how little I get paid here if I calculated it down to an hourly rate!

Vic

H.OM.E.R. says:

dont get me wrong Vic, i never made any assumptions about your economic situation….
i clearly relate to you….
i got a wife, 2 kids, vehicle and house payments, etc etc etc as well….

you obviosly are a hard working man, and you gotta do what you gotta do… i am just being some moral support to the wrong side of the wallet.

LOL, no worries. BTW, I actually canceled my Stan Winston life-sized Iron Man bust order.

My wife was very pleased. :-P

Vic

Ken J says:

Well, for those of you who were worried the re-release of TDK will delay the DVD, news is December 9, 2008 release date is confirmed. :-)
