The film side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to kick off Phase 3 this year with the premiere of Captain America: Civil War, and ABC is continually developing its part of the shared universe, which currently includes Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On Netflix, the streaming service is building up its own corner of the MCU with its Defenders universe set primarily in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. Most recently, season 2 of the critically well-regarded Daredevil series hit the streaming service.

Season 2 continues to follow the exploits of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he suits up as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, this time crossing paths with two fan-favorite Marvel Comics characters: Elektra Natchios (Élodie Yung) and Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher (Jon Bernthal). Now, new posters for Daredevil season 2 feature the titular character and his comrades in vigilantism.

ComicBook.com shared the four new posters, one featuring The Punisher and a bullet painted with the comic character's skull symbol, one of Elektra with her signature sai weapons, and two of Daredevil. Take a look at the posters:

In addition to Murdock himself, returning Daredevil characters include his best friend Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), their work associate Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), an ally on the NYPD Brett Mahoney (Royce Johnson), an ally at Metro General Hospital Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), and Murdock's former mentor Stick (Scott Glenn).

These new posters tease a particularly violent outing for Daredevil in its second season, with Matt Murdock bloodied in one poster and framed by bullet holes in another. Certainly, the violent meeting of Daredevil and The Punisher has been pervasive in the motion posters and trailers for season 2, teasing the showdown between these two iconic Marvel characters who have differing views on how vigilantism should be approached.

Of course, The Punisher and Elektra aren't the only forces the Man Without Fear will face in season 2, as the Yakuza and The Hand return to Hell's Kitchen - while another foe causes trouble for Matt Murdock. But, early praise for season 2 especially highlighted the additions of The Punisher and Elektra, and rumors earlier this year pointed to the former possibly leading his own spinoff series. The two new characters, along with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself, are some of the most exciting aspects of Daredevil season 2.
