While DC has been involved in video games for a while with their wildly popular Injustice and Arkham franchises, Marvel has kept their primary focus on the films and only recently started making a larger name for themselves in the gaming department.

With the success of recent games like Marvel's Avengers and Marvel's Spider-Manthere is a decent chance gamers could see more projects from the company. While they have a bunch of characters to choose from, there are some that would work especially well in a video game format.

Daredevil

Like Spider-Man, Daredevil has already had his own videogame. However, his game was for the Gameboy Advance and was based on the 2003 film, so it's long overdue for a modern take. While Matt's fighting style isn't unlike things players have seen in games already, his blindness is part of what could make the gameplay so interesting.

Since Daredevil's blindness is also his greatest strength, it could provide a unique challenge to players as they try to navigate the story without the use of traditional vision. Daredevil also has a great villain line-up of characters like Elektra, Bullseye, Kingpin, and the Hand, which could all serve as antagonists in the game.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight throws a crescent dart in Marvel Comics.

Despite them being quite different, the comparison between Moon Knight and Batman is constantly being made so it's a surprise that marvel hasn't followed in the footsteps of DC and made a game about the character.

The thing that could set the gameplay apart is the fact that Moon Knight suffers from dissociative identity disorder, which causes him to juggle 3 different personalities: Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley. It could even be cool if players could switch between them the same way they could alternate between Trevor, Michael, and Franklin in Grand Theft Auto V.

Black Panther

Another character deserving of their own video game is the king himself, Black Panther. The character was supposed to be added to Marvel's Avengers earlier in the year, but that was delayed due to the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman. Based on how popular the character's solo film was when it released, a game about the character is a guaranteed success.

Not only would it be cool to run around in the Black Panther costume as T'Challa or Shuri, but it would be a perfect opportunity to further explore the world and lore of Wakanda by delving into the more mystical elements of the country.

Ant-Man

Like Aquaman, Ant-Man is one of those characters that was previously considered to be a joke but proved themselves to be really cool. His shrinking and growing abilities could make for some excellent missions of different varieties to keep the game from feeling repetitive.

If they wanted to differentiate it from the movies, they could focus on Eric O'Grady rather than Hank Pym or Scott Lang, who is a much less heroic version of the character. But if they did want to go with one of the originals, they could even include Wasp at some point.

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes Marvel Comics

Ghost Rider is another character that would be interesting to explore in a video game format. His chain and hell-charged vehicles are iconic aspects of the character that would add to the playability. He also isn't a traditional hero like most of the others on the list falling much more in line with characters like the Punisher in terms of morals, which could result in a more mature game.

While multiple people have had the role of Ghost Rider, the two most popular versions have been Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes. They could either have the first game be about Johnny Blaze and focus on Robbie in the sequel, or they could let players play as both of them and have their stories be intertwined.

Spider-Man 2099

Lately Insomniac has been hitting it out of the park with superhero projects, with both 2018's Spider-Man and the follow-up game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales being massive hits, and with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 expected to drop in 2022. Another Spider-Man character that it would be cool to see them handle is Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.

The character was featured in the 2010 game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions but has yet to have his own solo project outside of the comics. The game could take inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077 since they're both set in the distant future, and could and could focus on O'Hara attempting to fill the void left by Peter Parker decades later. While some may want to see the company deal with a character other than Spider-Man, this would make a perfect addition to the franchise.

Black Widow

Black Widow is one of the more mysterious characters from the comics, which is exactly why a spy game about the character would be great.

Her time as an assassin would make for great character conflict and could have her attempt to reconcile with her past while carrying out dangerous and possibly questionable missions for SHIELD, which could require her to venture all across the world to carry them out rather than the game taking place solely in one country or city.

Thor

Thor is arguably the most interesting member of the Avengers, largely due to his vast preexisting history outside of the comics. A game about the "God of Thunder" could be an awesome way for players to delve into Norse mythology, something which was heavily featured in games like God of War.

The story could have Thor explore the nine realms and play missions that don't just have him on Earth or Asgard. Not to mention that Mjolnir, or whatever magical hammer or ax Thor is wielding at the time, makes for a great combat weapon since it always come back to him.

Captain America

Captain America waves the American flag in Marvel Comics.

Unlike most superhero games which take place in the present-day, a game centered around Captain America could set itself apart by exploring the earlier days of Steve Roger's time as the hero during World War II similar to the Call of Duty games.

Like Mjolnir, Captain America's vibranium shield is a weapon that makes for unique combat, especially since it's both offensive and defensive.

Doctor Strange

Another character that could easily carry their own game is Doctor Strange. It would be an incredibly unique experience playing as the Sorcerer Supreme, especially since he operates on a different plane than most marvel characters and is able to move between various universes and dimensions.

It would also be interesting to be able to use different combos to utilize different spells as players progress and learn more about the world of the mystic arts. The game could even offer other sorcerers from the comics like Clea, Doctor Voodoo, and Wong to play as. Now would be also the perfect time for the game since the technology would be able to provide the trippy visuals that the story would require.
