Kofster,,,, this is the only thing going for this film, in my book.

Don’t forget how dark the Beatlejuice music was, he also did Sleepy Hollow, that was a good one!
Of course I love Danny from his lead singer days of Oingo Boingo !!!! ;-)
Met him one time very humble guy !

MK says:

Danny also did the music for all the Spider Man movies which was awesome…

Mbuckingham says:

Man this is greatr news, Danny Elfman’s about the best composer ever… his recent score for Hellboy 2 is unbeatable as is the score for Edward Scissorhands… I think this film will be a great success, I can’t wait to see it!

Ken J says:

I remember his Batman theme, both for the films and the animated series. Great stuff.

almanza says:

I do not see a problem with Danny Elfman scoring The Wolf man, neither think it will be a failure as you may think… You must have forgotten how many memorable and, yes, scary scores Danny has written. Spiderman, Batman, Hell Boy 2 not to mention many all the eeriness he has added to all Tim Burton movies through the magic of his music. With so many twists on the Werewolf story, it was about time someone brought back it’s original plot, with a great director and a wonderful cast. And with so many composers dying to score this film (including myself), I couldn’t see a better guy than Danny to be on it. I foresee a very scary Werewolf film, without the 18 feet CGI un proportional beasts and stupid plots that make you wish time never moved after Lon Cheney…

Bryan says:

He did compose “Sleepy Hollow,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “The Corpse Bride” for Tim Burton. I don’t have a probem imagining he could do a good score for this movie.

AJ says:

I giggled a bit at the line, “Tribal drums and heart-pounding rhythms would be a much better fit.” Ever heard the Planet of the Apes theme? The one with tribal drums? Yeah, Elfman did that. ;)

SIN187UM says:

Yes nothing wrong with Elfman. He did score Sleepy Hollow as well. I think he does good work, people just like to try and compare him to John Williams too much (another great composer).

Side Note

THEY NEED TO REMAKE THE HOWLING.

Hazard Simpson says:

Totally nothing wrong with Elfman!! The fact that you even associate him with failure makes NO sense if you did your homework, Kofi. This quote:

“Hmmm. An Elfman score makes me think that this Wolf Man remake is going to end in failure like so many Wolf Men before it. Not saying there’s anything wrong with Elfman, per say, but for a Wolf Man movie?”

Sure makes you seem dreadfully ignorant. Read up a little more before saying things like that eh?

Consider:

Good Will Hunting
Mission Impossible
Spider Man movies
Men In Black
Nightmare Before Christmas
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Big Fish

Now at least 3 of those movies got him Oscar Nominations, and a couple of them won the Oscar themselves. So… Maybe you should review upcoming movies on the MOVIE, and not your lack of exposure to anything that’s not the Star Wars or Indiana Jones themes, eh? ;)

790 says:

Anyone here ever hear of Oingo Boingo ?
Holly sheesh.

Elfman used to rock before he scored.

Hazard Simpson says:

Hear of? Oh yeah – I’ve seen them in concert in fact, and have tons of their music in various CDs and tapes around. Elfman is a Diety in the Pantheon of Music Gods!

790 says:

@Hazard Simpson
Yeah me too saw them about 4 times usually on Holloween at Irvine Meadows.
Also saw there last tour at Universal Amp, and met Danny backstage !!!
Love all there music. :-)

There’s dark at the end of the tunnel,,,

Gary says:

Can’t wait for this movie and with Danny Elfman doing the music it’s bound to atmospheric.
