Dancing With The Stars season 31 Stars' Stories Week is a two-night event consisting of the Most Memorable Year and Prom Night episodes, which culminated with a Dance Marathon. The leaderboard rankings were mostly consistent with other weeks after Prom Night, but the elimination of Joseph Baena and Daniella Karagach was surprising. What's more shocking is Heidi D'Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev, who skyrocketed near the top of the leaderboard, were in the bottom two with them.
After Selma Blair had to leave the competition due to health concerns related to multiple sclerosis, the remaining 11 DWTS season 31 contestants danced the night away on Prom Night. Their scores from the Most Memorable Year and Prom Night episodes were combined. They also received bonus points from the judges depending on how long they lasted in the Dance Marathon, performing a hustle and a Lindy Hop. After struggling a bit for the past few weeks and placing last on the leaderboard during the Most Memorable Year episode, Jessie James Decker and her partner Alan Bersten won the DWTS Dance Marathon and were crowned the Prom King and Queen. Prom Night also brought the first perfect scores from the judges, earned by Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as Wayne Brady and Witney Carson. The final week 5 leaderboard rankings consisted of three scores: Most Memorable Year dance, Prom Night dance, and Dance Marathon bonus points. The highest possible score was 91.
Vinny Guadagnino Was At The Bottom Of The DWTS Leaderboard
Vinny and Koko Iwasaki placed eleventh with a total of 62 points. On Prom Night, they received 28 points out of 40 for their waltz to "You and Me." This was combined with the previous night's score of 32 for their jazz dance to "Levels." Vinny and Koko placed tenth in the Dance Marathon, earning two bonus points.
Daniel Durant Placed Tenth On The DWTS Leaderboard
Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart came in tenth place with a total of 67 points. The DWTS couple's Prom Night dance was a cha-cha to "SexyBack," which earned them 32 points. This score was combined with their Most Memorable Year dance, a contemporary routine to "Both Sides Now," and earned 34 points. They took last place in the Dance Marathon and earned one point.
Joseph Baena Took Ninth Place On DWTS Prom Night
Joseph and Daniella might not have been at the bottom of the leaderboard, placing ninth with 70 points, but they were still eliminated from the competition. They earned 32 points for their Prom Night cha-cha to "Shut Up and Dance," which were combined with their 34 points for the previous night's rumba to "My Way." Joseph, who was shocked by his DWTS elimination, and Daniella placed eighth in the Dance Marathon and earned an extra four points.
Jordin Sparks Placed Eighth On The DWTS Leaderboard
Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong earned 71 points for both nights, placing eighth on the leaderboard overall. They received 35 points for their contemporary dance to Jordin's hit with Chris Brown, "No Air." On the Most Memorable Year episode, they earned 33 points for their salsa to "Let’s Get Married (ReMarqable Remix)." Jordin and Brandon placed ninth in the Dance Marathon, earning three bonus points.
DWTS' Trevor Donovan Tied For Sixth Place With Jessie James Decker
Two couples, Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater and Jessie and Alan Bersten, took sixth place during Stars' Stories Week, with a total of 72 points. On Prom Night, Trevor and Emma earned 32 points for their jive to "Basket Case," which were combined with their previous night's score of 32 for their jazz routine to "Viva La Vida." Trevor, a DWTS contestant, and Emma placed fourth in the Dance Marathon and earned eight bonus points. On the Most Memorable Year episode, Jessie and Alan placed last on the leaderboard with 29 points for their tango to Jessie's song, "Blue Jeans." However, they were able to pull themselves up on Prom Night, earning 32 points for their Viennese waltz to "Breakaway." Additionally, they won the Dance Marathon and earned 11 bonus points.
Shangela Placed Fifth On DWTS Prom Night
Shangela and Gleb Savchenko were in fifth place with a total of 77 points. They earned 35 points for their cha-cha to "Waiting For Tonight." This was combined with the 32 points they scored for their Foxtrot to "Roar (Acoustic)" on the Most Memorable Year episode. Shangela, who acknowledges eliminated DWTS contestants, and Gleb took second place in the Dance Marathon and earned 10 extra points.
Heidi D'Amelio Was In Fourth Place On The DWTS Leaderboard
Despite placing fourth on the leaderboard, Heidi and Artem found themselves in the bottom two, but they were saved by judges Len Goodman, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. They earned a total of 78 points, including a score of 33 for their jazz routine to "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." On the Most Memorable Year episode, they had tied for third place with frontrunners Gabby and Val, earning 36 points for their rumba to "Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You (I Love You Baby)." Heidi and Artem placed third in the Dance Marathon, earning nine bonus points.
Wayne Brady & Gabby Windey Tied For Second Place On DWTS Prom Night
After tying for first with Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas for three weeks in a row, Gabby and Val, as well as Wayne, who was on Broadway, and Witney placed second with 82 points. Despite Charli and Mark moving ahead of them on the leaderboard, both couples earned perfect scores of 40 out of 40 on Prom Night, something that Charli and Mark have yet to achieve. Gabby and Val danced their perfect tango to "Good Girls Go Bad," which was combined with their score of 36 for their Foxtrot to "If the World Should Ever Stop." They placed sixth in the Dance Marathon, earning six extra points. Wayne and Witney's perfect dance was a samba to "It Takes Two," which was added to their score of 37 points for their Foxtrot to Wayne's song with Jim Brickman, "Beautiful." Wayne and Witney placed seventh in the Dance Marathon, earning five bonus points.
Charli D'Amelio Has Placed First Every Week Of DWTS Season 31
Charli, who deserves to be on DWTS, and Mark continued their first-place streak with a total of 84 points. They received a score of 38 points for their Prom Night jive to "You Make My Dreams." On the Most Memorable Year episode, they received the first 10s of the season, scoring 39 points. They performed a contemporary dance to "When the Party’s Over." They placed fifth in the Dance Marathon, earning seven bonus points.
DWTS season 31 Star's Stories Week was a two-night event that was a celebration of the celebrities. It was an emotional and challenging week as the stars tapped into their most personal memories while learning four dances for the first time this season. The stars created works of art that were some of the best dances the show has ever seen. DWTS truly outdid itself with this special week.
