There has been many-a-rumor about the sequels to the popular vampire film Twilight, but so far most of them haven’t had any truth to them. Well it appears that one previous rumor has now reportedly been confirmed:
Dakota Fanning will star in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Now let me just say straight away that this “confirmation” comes to us courtesy of a Twilight fan site called BellaAndEdward.com, who claim they got an e-mail from Summit Entertainment saying that Fanning is going to play the character of Jane in New Moon (see above header image).
Now as is always the better option for discussion’s sake, for the time being let’s take this confirmation as the truth – I am actually very pleased at this news. Not that I am a a die hard Twilight fan (although I really liked the movie) who knows exactly what the character is supposed to be, but Fanning has shown she is a very talented young actress (who’s shown she can do more than just being cute with Push) and adding talent to you’re movie (no matter if they have a different hair colour or shape of face – they can make anybody look like anybody nowadays) can only be a good thing.
As I said this may very well be untrue but there’s nothing blatant to suggest so.
So is Fanning a good choice to play the character of Jane or should they have went for someone else? If so, who?
New Moon is scheduled to open in US theaters this year on November 29th and on November 27th in the UK.

Damn man, this little brat would have made more money at age 15 than I probably will in my whole life. Damn my parents for not putting me through acting school when I was younger… lol
this is bad news . there are so many other people who could do a better job. She is too old for the role. She isn’t a child actor anymore. the role should have gone to sierra mccormick
I would rather have seen someone younger, and someone who hasn’t established a name in Hollywood. I have to confess, her casting was a huge disappointment. Considering the director already has a lot of proving himself to do in my eyes, {Catherine did amazing, I was highly disappointed that Summit cared more about the money than the quality of New Moon} and the fact that he instantly added a big name…
needless to say this director is not in my high favor right now.
I really am getting a bit mad at what a big deal this is. Jane is in like 3 chapters and there making it sound like shes starring in the whole movie! Even in the last book jane is only in 3 chapters (maybe less or more, but I know its not alot) So what does it matter, dakota isnt with the contriversy…
Think of what a tight budget Summit already has New Moon on. Add big name celebrity.
Down go the bills.
And that’s just one of the reasons I don’t think she should have been added. I can’t concur with lessening the movie’s already tight budget just to hire her.
I dont think dakota fanning is the right person to play in (new moon) she doesn’t seem to fit the part!!!

Ew gross dakota is a such an annoying actress and WHYYY is she in this movie! Ugh she is totally killing it for me already! She doesn’t fit the role and im totally dissapointed by the choice the director made. Dakota isn’t serious enough and her acting makes me wince. Honestly its killing it for me. She better not screw up the role
i totally agree wit tundi jodelle ferland would be a GREAT jane and dakota is soooo EWWWWW…. i mean she is a good actress but she doesnt fit the role of jane… such a disappointmen
Guys…. at least she isn’t gonna be Bella Swan!!!!! So just chill and lets worry about the fact that Edward might be replased with Angel from Buffy and I do not want that!!!
