A team of indie developers has built a Cyberpunk 2077-themed dating simulator with permission from CD Projekt Red. 2020's much-hyped and long-troubled postmodern RPG has plenty of romance options for Cyberpunk 2077's main character V, allowing them to complete sidequests and build steady relationships with a variety of different supporting characters.  This is just one of the many ways players can customize their own version of V as they struggle to make a name for themselves in the rough world of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City.

While Cyberpunk 2077 does a solid job in providing players with plenty of variety in the characters that V can romance, there are still some supporting cast members that players wish they could date. Fiery rocker Johnny Silverhand is off-limits as a romance option in Cyberpunk 2077 due to him being a deceased neural engram in V’s mind, but that hasn’t stopped players from romancing Johnny in Cyberpunk 2077 mods – something that even Keanu Reeves approves of. There are also numerous sex workers, or “Dolls,” that V can have brief interactions with without forming a romantic relationship. While sex and romance are far from the main focus of Cyberpunk 2077, there is plenty of both for players who wish to explore the more intimate aspects of life within Night City.

Indie developer Triple Thirst has revealed its latest project: a Cyberpunk 2077-based dating simulator titled Cyberbang 2069 (via Forbes). The interactive visual novel comes in SFW and NSFW versions and allows players to romance various characters in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe - even ones that aren’t available to romance in the main game. The first iteration of Cyberbang 2069 seems to be largely focused on Arasaka Corporation associate Sandayu Oda, but Triple Thirst promises it will be adding further storylines for Goro Takemura, Victor Vektor, and even romance options for Cyberpunk 2077's Johnny Silverhand. While CDPR isn’t funding Cyberbang 2069, Triple Thirst apparently asked the developer for permission before starting the project, and various members of CDPR have endorsed it on social media. Patrick K Mills, a Cyberpunk 2077 quest designer, recently tweeted that Cyberbang 2069 was “cool,” and expressed his appreciation for Cyberpunk 2077’s dedicated fanbase. Cyberbang 2069 can be downloaded for free via itch.io.

It’s no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 had a divisive launch back in 2020, and CD Projekt Red has been working to correct the game’s many perceived shortcomings with patches and updates since its debut. These efforts seem to be paying off, as Cyberpunk 2077 saw a wave of positive reviews on Steam during November’s Steam Autumn Sale event, and statistics released by Valve at the end of the year revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 was one of Steam’s most played games in 2021. Fans are currently waiting on Cyberpunk 2077’s planned update for PS5 and Xbox Series X, which is said to be launching sometime in the first quarter of 2022 following a lengthy delay by CD Projekt Red.

Players have modified Cyberpunk 2077 in many different ways, most of which add previously teased features that were ultimately missing from the game’s release. However, Cyberbang 2069 is an entirely different game, one that explores romance in Night City with the full approval of CD Projekt Red. Cyberbang 2069 is currently free to download, with the developers planning to add more content and demos in the future.
