"...but with the type of audience his movies cater to..."

I almost feel like quoting Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder because I guess I must be one of those people, except I'm not really sure what I mean by those people. Not everything Smith does is genius, but I have enjoyed almost every movie of his that I've seen, so I'll check this out too.

But when do I get to see the sailboat!?

Love Kevin Smith. He's an expert at getting the most marketing with the least amount of effort and budget ever. He even participated in a protest of Dogma condemning the movie and the writer director in an interview with a local news station. That was terrific!

He takes risks and I like that. He can make the most mundane conversation interesting. Who else can do that besides Quentin Tarrantino?

And Kevin Smith is the reason that I enjoy listening to commentaries. The first one I ever heard was Clerks and it was so interesting and honest. Not everyone is good at commentaries. For example, Young Frankenstein. I was excited to hear Mel Brooks' commentary and it's probably one of the worst I've ever endured. It's not as easy as it looks.

Jersey Girl was a very touching movie that never had a chance because of the "Ben & Jen" publicity. Even though she dies in the very beginning, people were just sick of hearing about Ben and Jen and that was sad.

I actually think Bruce Willis is funny. Loved him in The Whole Nine Yards and the sequel wasn't horrible. And he wasn't a copy in The Sixth Sense. I found him perfectly believable as a psychiatrist. I really thought he'd win the Oscar for that. He was equally good in Unbreakable as a security guard. I know, another "cop" role but he was terrific. I think that he's very under rated as an actor.

My only worry is that Kevin Smith didn't write the script. Hopefully it's a good one or he can make it a good one.
Tracey Morgan is crazy but he's a very funny person. His five minute scene as Pablo Escabar, the local union drug dealer in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, was hysterical.

Either way, if Kevin Smith is involved, I'll see it. Same with Bruce Willis. He's the MAN!

Eh, never was a fan of Kevin Smith, but Bruce Willis is in it, so count me in...

And I agree with Vic, but with the type of audience his movies cater to, that type of reaction is probably exactly what he needs to properly market his movies...

Don't get me wrong Gary I just think he's better than this,,,, :-)

I'm a fan of Smith... "Dogma" "Chasing Amy" and "Clerks 1-2" were great and "Mallrats" too... I just think his quasi-gay-porn-direction sucks overall. I wish he would do a science fiction film,,, if he's such a fan what's the deal,,,?

What's next for Smith, I'm afriad to ask,,,This looks like a generic "Rush Hour" knockoff,,,

Smith has some talent but he wastes it. (IMO)

I cry no tears for Smith if the studio renames his film. He's obviously just bucking for the same sort of publicity he got with Zack & Miri.

Now that's not to say that the film might not actually be FUNNY...
