Netflix has chosen to put a lid on Cooking With Paris after its first season premiered last August. The 40-year-old, who comes from a well-known established family, is the daughter of businessman Richard and socialite Kathy Hilton; Kathy has starred on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since 2011 along with Paris's aunts Kim and Kyle Richards. In 2003, 22-year-old Paris and her BFF Nicole Richie began a five-year run starring on The Simple Life. Spawning quotes and memes that are still used today ("What is Walmart? Do they sell like, wall stuff?") viewers thoroughly enjoyed watching the two rich young socialites struggle to complete menial tasks like sweeping and taking customers' orders.

Paris (and Nicole) have grown tremendously since their iconic appearances on The Simple Life. For Paris, her debut book Confessions of an Heiress hit the New York Times bestsellers list in 2004; her debut studio album Paris reached number six on Billboard 200 in 2006. Before signing on to host her own cooking show, Paris was involved with several other ventures, including Paris Hilton's My New BFF (MTV, 2008-2011), The World According to Paris (Oxygen, 2011), Paris in Love (Peacock, 2021-2022), and the documentary Paris in Love (YouTube originals, 2020). After meeting Carter Reum in 2019, Paris and her entrepreneur beau wed in an extravagant three-day wedding ceremony. Their union was featured on Paris in Love, although Carter was reported to have had a hard time relaxing in front of the camera.

Despite the success of Paris in Love two months ago, multiple outlets have confirmed that Netflix has pulled the plug on Cooking With Paris. With six episodes filmed, Paris and her celebrity pals—Kim Kardashian West, Saweetie, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato, Lele Pons, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild—attempt to make meals like a roasted turkey. Despite the wholesome ridiculousness Paris provided, like, according to Deadlineusing a spatula covered in diamonds, it was not enough to save the show. Deadline was the first to report the cancelation, with Entertainment Weekly also confirming the news. A trip down memory lane from People reminds viewers that this wasn't the first time Paris was filmed controlling a kitchen, as she and Nicole hilariously cooked dinner for a family with a clothing iron on The Simple Life.

Fans of the show are disappointed that Netflix has decided not to renew Cooking With Paris, especially since Paris teased a crossover episode of her two most recent programs. Just a few days ago, Paris uploaded an Instagram clip showing off the mini-wedding cakes delivered for taste testing. Putting her personal style on the small desserts, Paris and her Chief of Staff Charlotte surprise Carter with over-the-top decorations. Promoting two shows in one, Paris captioned, "I always have to add my signature glitter and shine. Should we do a #CookingWithParis wedding edition? Watch me return to the kitchen in #ParisInLove on @PeacockTV. "

Cooking With Paris was not received well by TV audiences upon its premiere, although some fans of Paris praised her fun persona and each episode's featured guest. Others who view the star as a smart businesswoman believe that the show is meant to symbolize how Paris has grown throughout her years in the spotlight. Although Cooking With Paris is over for the time being, Paris Hilton is not done contributing to television — or pop culture.
